Enemy UAV strikes are effectively disrupting Ukrainian Defense Forces logistics toward and within Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
Russian claims about the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk or Myrnohrad are disinformation.

Possible operation situation developments:
According to the assessment of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the enemy will not be able to achieve one of its strategic goals and capture the entire Donetsk Oblast by the end of 2025. Provided current dynamics of combat operations are maintained, the enemy will be able to capture Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Kupyansk no earlier than the end of the year and reach the close approaches to Zaporizhzhia and the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration by early winter.
On the Kupyansk direction, the forward units of the 6th Combined Arms Army will try to bypass Kupyansk as deeply as possible in the general direction of the Chuhuiv – Kupyansk highway and take control of the Mala Shapkivka – Velyka Shapkivka – Kindrashivka – Tyshchenkivka area. Holding the Petropavlivka – Pishchane – Kolisnykivka – Kivsharivka area by the 10th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces depends on the outcome of the battles in the Kupyansk area, therefore even the loss of Kupyansk will not lead to the loss of logistics for the tactical group of Ukrainian Defense Forces operating east of the Oskil River.
On the Lyman direction, troops of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping will push into the area of Yarova – Novoselivka – Drobysheve – Pryshyb and will try to block Lyman from the northwest, cutting all main routes that do not cross the Siverskyi Donets River and reach the river on the widest possible front. The 11th Army Corps will concentrate on holding the Novoselivka – Stavky line.
Russian forces will attack in the directions of Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka and Druzhkivka, attempting to cut the H20 highway between Kostyantynivka and Sloviansk and to complicate the logistics of the 19th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in Kostyantynivka. The “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping will conduct concentric strikes simultaneously from the directions of Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and the Kleban-Byk Reservoir, as well as from the Poltavka–Novoolenivka line.
In the Dobropillya area, troops of the 51st Combined Arms Army will try to completely push Ukrainian Defense Forces out of the Sofiivka – Volodymyrivka – Pankivka – Shakhove area. The command of the “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping will attempt to envelop the Pokrovsk defense area of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the flanks, break through on the left flank of the 2nd Combined Arms Army to the road to Pavlohrad and in the center of the 51st Combined Arms Army’s offensive strip to the area north of Pokrovsk. The enemy’s 51st Combined Arms Army will hold a part of the bridgehead in the area of Krasnyi Lyman and Rodynske at any price, as this has a direct bearing on the situation on the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy attempts to attack towards the intersection with the road to Hryshyne and towards Myrnohrad. The 51st Combined Arms Army will clearly try to hold the Nykanorivka – Pankivka line, while the enemy’s marine formations continue to press on Shakhove and Sofiivka.
The forward units of the enemy’s 2nd Combined Arms Army will attempt to advance from the Pokrovsk industrial zone in a north-eastern direction toward Rodynske and the T-shaped intersection of roads to Dobropillya and Hryshyne to encircle elements of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of Ukrainian Defense Forces in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. If the enemy’s 2nd Combined Arms Army continues to advance to the north and north-east, the entire Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad defensive area will be captured by the enemy.
On the Oleksandrivka direction, the “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping will concentrate its main efforts in the offensive sectors of the 5th and 36th Combined Arms Armies, attempting to flank the 17th Army Corps’ Huliaypole defense area of Ukrainian Defense Forces. The enemy, with forces from the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Combined Arms Army and the 57th, 60th, 37th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades, the 5th Separate Tank Brigade, and the 69th Separate Cover Brigade of the 35th Combined Arms Army on the Oleksandrohrad – Verbove sector, will attempt to break through to the Pokrovske – Kolomiytsi – Novooleksandrivka – Vidradne area and cut the T0401 Pokrovske – Huliaypole highway. With part of its forces, the aggressor will advance in the Novoivanivka – Uspenivka direction.
On the Orikhiv direction, the “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue a local offensive operation, attempting to break through along the left bank of the Dnipro River from the Plavni – Kamianske line toward Stepnohirsk and from the Stepove – Mali Shcherbaky line in the northern direction.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the command of the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue trying to take control of most of the island zone in the Dnipro delta in the direction of Kherson, will try to create a tactical bridgehead on the right bank, and to eliminate the tactical bridgeheads of the 30th Marine Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of the automobile and railway bridges near Antonivka.

Humanitarian + general:
On the night of October 31, Russia attacked Ukraine with one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 145 strike drones. Air defense forces intercepted the missile and 107 enemy drones. According to the Air Force, about 90 of the drones were Shaheds. As of 09:00, there were confirmed strikes by 36 drones at 20 locations; the attack was still ongoing, with enemy drones remaining in the airspace.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Russian forces attacked key substations that supported the operation of Ukrainian-controlled nuclear power plants. IAEA teams at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant (SUNPP) and Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant (KhNPP) reported that each of these plants lost access to one of their external power lines. The IAEA team at the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant reported that the station reduced output from two of its four power units at the request of the grid operator. The IAEA team at KhNPP was forced to take shelter in a hotel for several hours this morning due to attacks.
Russians attacked civilian infrastructure in Sumy on the evening of October 30, launching ten drones at the city within one hour. A nine-story and a two-story residential building in different parts of the city were hit, injuring eleven people, including four children.
At night, Russia again struck railway infrastructure in the Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, damaging rolling stock and causing train delays. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, as all personnel managed to take cover in time.
During the night of October 31, the enemy carried out another drone strike on energy infrastructure facilities in Odesa Oblast. Despite active air defense operations, a strike was recorded on one of the industrial facilities. A fire broke out but was promptly extinguished by rescuers.
On October 31, Russian troops once again shelled the Dnipro district of Kherson with artillery, killing two people and injuring another thirteen. Enemy fire also damaged market pavilions, causing a fire. Another person was injured in a drone attack. Two more civilians were wounded in Bilozerka, Kherson Oblast—one by artillery and another by a drone.
Russian invaders struck infrastructure and agricultural enterprises in the Koriukivka community in Chernihiv Oblast, injuring a woman.
The Russian army launched an airstrike on the Bilenke community near Zaporizhzhia; while recording the aftermath, an enemy drone attacked members of the commission working on site.
During the day on October 31, Russian forces shelled Dnipropetrovsk Oblast using artillery, FPV drones, and kamikaze drones. A woman was killed and two others were injured in the attacks. Synelnykivskyi, Nikopolskyi, and Pavlohradskyi districts came under fire.
The percentage of Ukrainians who believe that in ten years Ukraine will be a prosperous country and a member of the European Union has increased from 43% to 56%. According to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, after a period of declining optimism from October 2022 to May 2025, early October saw a recovery of positive sentiment. In May 2025, 47% of respondents believed that in ten years Ukraine would have a devastated economy and significant population loss, while 43% believed in its prosperous European future. Now, the share of pessimists has fallen to 31%.
