General conclusion:
The pace of Russian advances indicates that a Russian military victory in Ukraine is not inevitable, nor is a rapid seizure of the remainder of Donetsk Oblast.
The Russian military command in the theatre of operation prioritizes the capture of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Recent counterattacks by Ukrainian Defense Forces—especially north and northwest of Pokrovsk—may further delay Russia’s attempt to seize the city, although the situation remains difficult and fluid.
Russia’s recent gains along the frontline have largely been local and driven by seasonal weather conditions.
In the southern part of the Southern Slobozhansky direction and on the Lyman direction, Russian forces use assault groups composed mainly of former convicts. Proper individual ballistic protection is mostly found only in special forces units.
Ukrainian Defense Forces adapt to enemy attempts to cut Ukrainian logistics in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, including by building protected corridors with netting, covering logistics routes with air defense, and employing heavy UAVs and unmanned ground vehicles for logistics.
On the Huliaypole direction, the situation remains tense. The enemy has not encircled Ukrainian units, which continue to maintain logistics and evacuation.

The 71st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army operates in Novodanylivka.
Possible operation situation developments:
The Defense Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry assesses that while the enemy is unlikely to capture all of Donetsk Oblast by the spring of 2026, it may reach the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia and the Sloviansk–Kramatorsk area by early winter. Additionally, if current fighting continues at the same pace, the enemy could possibly take control of Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Kupyansk no earlier than year’s end.
On the Southern Slobozhanske Direction, the enemy will attempt to reach the Vovchansk – Staryi Saltiv road near Tsehelne and the highway to Rubizhne to disrupt the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ formations in the southern part of Vovchansk, significantly complicate their defense due to the considerable flank threat. The main forces of the 6th Combined Arms Army will advance from the Vovchansk–Bilyi Kolodyaz direction and from the bridgehead on the Oskil through Hryhorivka toward converging directions on Velykyi Burluk, pushing Ukrainian Defense Forces from all territory east of the Siverskyi Donets.
On the Lyman direction, the troops of the enemy’s 20th Combined Arms Army will advance toward Shandryholove–Novoselivka and Zelena Dolyna–Drobysheve and will push into the Novoselivka–Drobysheve–Pryshyb–Yarova area, while simultaneously expanding its tactical bridgehead on the Nitrius River near the village of Serednie, in order to block Lyman from the northwest and cut all communications running along the Siverskyi Donets River toward Izium. The enemy may attempt an immediate crossing of the Siverskyi Donets in the Zakytne–Dronivka area, which will complicate the further defense of Siversk.
The enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping will attack in the directions of Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka and Druzhkivka, attempting to cut the H20 highway Kostyantynivka–Sloviansk, which will complicate the logistics of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ 19th Army Corps in Kostyantynivka. The enemy will deliver concentric strikes simultaneously from Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, the Kleban-Byk Reservoir, and from the Poltavka–Yablunivka line.
The command of the “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping in order to prevent the withdrawal of elements of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad bridgehead, is making efforts to achieve a deeper envelopment of the western flank of the Pokrovsk defense area, attacking northward from the Udachne–Kotlyne line and attempting to break through to Hryshyne. The withdrawal of elements of Ukrainian Defense Forces from Myrnohrad toward the Dobropillya area could affect the overall situation on the 51st Combined Arms Army bridgehead west of the Kazennyi Torets River. To prevent a deterioration of the situation there, the enemy would hastily organize and conduct counterattacks in the areas of Ivanivka and Nove Shakhove.
On the Oleksandrivka direction, the troops of the enemy’s “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping will attempt to envelop the Huliaypole defensive area of Ukrainian Defense Forces from the north and block its main lines of communication. The troops of the 36th Combined Arms Army and elements of the right flank of the 5th Combined Arms Army will be breaking through toward Pokrovske from the southeast. The enemy will attempt to reach the Haichul River and the Huliaypole–Pokrovske road on the Dobropillya–Varvarivka section.
On the Orikhiv direction, the “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will attempt to break through along the left bank of the Dnipro River from the Plavni – Kamianske line toward Stepnohirsk and from the Stepove – Mali Shcherbaky line in the northern direction.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the command of the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue trying to take control of most of the island zone in the Dnipro delta in the direction of Kherson, will try to create a tactical bridgehead on the right bank, and to eliminate the tactical bridgeheads of the 30th Marine Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of the automobile and railway bridges near Antonivka.

Three people were injured and fires broke out as a result of Russian UAV and artillery strikes on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the evening of 26 November and during the night of 27 November. In the Synelnykove district, a woman and a man were injured in a UAV attack and hospitalized. A store, an annex to a house, a summer kitchen, a garage, a car, and a gazebo were burning as a result of the enemy attack. One home was destroyed, and a kindergarten and infrastructure were damaged. Another man was injured in an evening attack on Marhanets.
During the night of 27 November, Russians attacked Odesa Oblast with UAVs, causing fires and partial destruction of civilian infrastructure facilities. The facades and glazing of two residential buildings, an equestrian sports club, and a gas station building were damaged. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
During 27 November, the enemy struck energy facilities in several oblasts, resulting in power outages in the morning. Power-cut schedules are in effect across the country. Emergency electricity shutdowns were applied in Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava oblasts.
In the morning, Russian forces struck Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast with UAVs, damaging private houses and injuring two people.
In the morning, Russian occupiers attacked a civilian car with a drone in Kherson Oblast, injuring a 72-year-old man.
In Kharkiv Oblast, in the village of Motuzivka, two people—a woman and her 12-year-old son—were injured in a Russian UAV strike on Thursday morning. There is also destruction in the Village.
During the day on 27 November, Kherson authorities reported possible interruptions to centralized water supply due to damage to power grids and critical infrastructure caused by enemy shelling. Earlier, at about 12:45, Russian forces shelled the Dnipro district of Kherson several times, injuring three people.

In Ukraine, as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion, 238 artists and 119 media workers, including foreign nationals, have been killed.
In Kherson, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods remains Korabel, where about 200 people currently remain without electricity and gas supply. Residents of the district are most concerned about restoring electricity, which is difficult to restore due to enemy shelling.
A political prisoner from the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast, Hennadii Osmak, the former editor-in-chief of the Henichesk news outlet Novyi Vizyt, was transported for two months to a colony in Russia, during which he was tortured, and his health has sharply deteriorated.
The Russification of sovereign Ukrainian oblasts as “historical territories of the Russian state,” which continues under the decree of the president of Russia, Putin, of 25 November 2025, “Strategy of Russia’s National Policy for the Period until 2036,” underscores the openly imperialist nature of Russia’s ongoing attempts to subjugate Ukraine and eradicate Ukrainian culture. This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense, citing intelligence, which notes that the document imposes the Russian language, identity, and culture on residents of illegally occupied territory, and also defines occupied and unoccupied Ukrainian territory as part of the Russian Federation, which directly contradicts Russia’s official recognition of Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty after the collapse of the USSR.
