Operational situation
On the Kursk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out attacks near Tetkino and in the direction of Novyi Put.
On the Sumy direction, the 83rd Separate Air Assault Brigade captured Bilovody. The enemy continues fighting for Volodymyrivka, is consolidating positions in the north of Yunakivka, attempting to advance toward the northern outskirts of Vodolaha, and attacked near Loknia.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Bilovody and Oleshnia.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops advanced north of Vovchansk and captured positions at the Aggregate Plant. They attempted to advance northeast of Tykhe and attacked near Lyptsi and Vovchanski Khutory.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces reached the eastern outskirts of Holubivka and the northeastern outskirts of Mala Shapkivka. They attacked near Krasne Pershe, Stroyivka, in the direction of Petropavlivka, Zahryzove, Nova Kruhlyakivka, Hrekivka, and Olkhivka.
On the Lyman direction, Russian troops reached the southern outskirts of Ridkodub, attempted to advance northeast of Novomykhailivka, and south of Zelena Dolyna. They advanced near Lypove, Karpivka, Novyi Myr, Zelena Dolyna, Novomykhailivka, Yampolivka, Torske, and the Serebrianka forest.
Ukrainian Defense Forces expelled the enemy from Myrne.
On the Siversk direction, Russian troops advanced near Hryhorivka, Bilohorivka, and Verkhnyokamianske.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces advanced southwest of Ozaryanivka and are engaged in fighting for Stupochky. They advanced near Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, and Kurdyumivka.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian troops made slight gains toward the center of Popiv Yar and southeast of Poltavka. They captured Zoria and attempted to advance northeast of Oleksandropil, and north and northeast of Novoolenivka. The 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Combined Arms Army is fighting on the western outskirts of Yablunivka. The enemy is attempting to move toward the Kleban-Byk reservoir and south of Rusyn Yar. The enemy continues its offensive in Toretsk, near Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, Novospaske, Romanivka, Oleksandropil, and Oleksandro-Kalynove.
Ukrainian Defense Forces are withdrawing from certain positions south of Zoria and Romanivka and are counterattacking near Popiv Yar, Zoria, and south of Hnativka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, troops of the 68th Army Corps captured Myrne. The enemy is attempting to advance east of Shevchenkove, north of Myroliubivka, and advanced near Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, and Udachne. The 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 51st Combined Arms Army is attacking from Malynivka in the direction of Novoekonomichne, and the 110th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 51st Combined Arms Army and the 39th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 68th Army Corps are advancing northeast of Pokrovsk.

On the Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops advanced toward Muravka and attacked near Novomykolayivka, Kotlyarivka, Troitske, Orikhove, Konstyantynopil, Bahatyr, Andriivka, Oleksiivka, and attempted to advance north and west of Odradne.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Oleksiivka and Dachne.
On the Huliaypole direction, Russian forces advanced on the northern and eastern outskirts of Zelene Pole, west of Novopil, and south of Komar. They attempt to encircle Zelene Pole and Novopil, and attacked near Vilne Pole, Shevchenkove, Vesele, Burlatske, Myrne, and Novopil. The enemy deployed reserves into battle on the southern outskirts of Komar.

On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attacked near Novoandriivka, Stepove, and in the direction of Mali Shcherbaky.
On Prydniprovske direction, Russian forces continued localized attacks near Kozachi Laheri and in the Dnipro River Delta area but made no advances.
General conclusion:
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus maintain approximately 2,000 personnel deployed along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, thereby tying down units of Ukrainian Defense Forces.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has reduced the intensity of combat operations but is likely preparing to resume the offensive.
On the Novopavlivka direction, positions near Bahatyr, Konstyantynopil, and Odradne constantly change hands; fighting in this area is extremely intense.
On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces are intensifying attacks toward Orikhiv with small infantry groups. Each attacking company is equipped with up to 30 motorcycles.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 170 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kharkiv direction, five enemy attacks were repelled in the areas of Vovchansk and Dvorichna.
On the Kupyansk direction, five enemy attacks took place. Enemy assault actions were repelled near Zahryzove and toward Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhlyakivka.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 16 times, attempting to breach Ukrainian defense near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Ridkodub, Yampolivka, Torske, and toward Hryhorivka.
On the Siversk direction, three enemy attacks were stopped near Bilohorivka and Verkhnyokamianske.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked five times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Stupochky, Bila Hora, and Predtechyne.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 12 attacks in the areas of Ozaryanivka, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, 65 enemy assault actions were stopped near Zoria, Oleksandropil, Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Udachne, Novomykolayivka, Kotlyarivka, Troitske, and Andriivka.
On the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy conducted 24 attacks near the settlements of Konstyantynopil, Bahatyr, Odradne, Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Novopil, and Vilne Pole.
On the Orikhiv direction, the occupying forces stormed the positions of Ukrainian Defense Forces four times near Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, and toward Novoandriivka.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the invaders attacked Ukrainian Defense Forces positions but were unsuccessful and were stopped.
On the Kursk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to contain the enemy, having stopped 23 enemy assault actions. The enemy carried out 16 airstrikes.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Mediterranean Sea: 3 ships, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
Supporting operation:
Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out drone strikes on targets in the cities of Novomoskovsk and Uzlovaya in Tula Oblast.
Flight restrictions were introduced at the airports of Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, and Tambov.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 18th Motorized Rifle Division of the 11th Army Corps and the 83rd Separate Air Assault Brigade advance in the directions of Veselivka–Vodolaha and Zhuravka–Bilovody, and between Loknia and Bilovody.
The 1st and 15th Motorized Rifle Regiments of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army advance along the Nove–Ridkodub and Katerynivka–Novyi Myr lines. The 254th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Combined Arms Army advances near Zelena Dolyna and north of Novomykhailivka.
The 85th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Combined Arms Army and the 27th Artillery Regiment of the 6th Motorized Rifle Division of the 3rd Army Corps advance in the direction of Chasiv Yar.
Aviation of the 11th Air Force and Air Defense Army conducts strikes in the direction of Vremivka. The 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 5th Separate Tank Brigade of the 36th Combined Arms Army advance near Fedorivka.
The 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army operates in Mala Tokmachka.
Possible operation situation developments:
The "Kursk" Group of Forces of the enemy’s "Sever (North)" Operational Grouping will attempt to breach toward the Yunakivka–Sudzha highway, which is currently under their fire control. A follow-on operational objective may involve securing the line of dominant heights in the vicinity of Yunakivka village and establishing a foothold in the border zone to the east, north, and northwest of Yunakivka—primarily along both banks of the Snagost River. Simultaneously, the enemy will seek to advance to the Oleksiivka–Yablunivka line and into the Yunakivka area.
On the Kharkiv direction, the enemy’s military command intends to deploy part of the “Kursk” Grouping of Forces to intensify the offensive operation in the north of Kharkiv Oblast.
On the Kupyansk direction, the command of the enemy's "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance with forces of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division from the bridgehead near Nove toward the high ground near the village of Cherneshchyna, and with forces of the 4th Tank Division, which is advancing on converging directions Raihorodka–Cherneshchyna and Pershotravneve–Kopanky, will attempt to encircle a tactical group of the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Grouping (OSG) defending along the Novoyehorivka–Hrekivka line.
On the Lyman direction, the forces of the "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance towards the Karlivka – Shandryholove – Drobysheve line while simultaneously advancing near Torske to approach Lyman from the east. The 25th Combined Arms Army will advance in the Dibrova – Yampil direction and in the area of the Serebriansk Forest in order to break through the communication lines of the "Khortytsia" OSG.
On the Siversk direction, the command of the enemy's "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping will attempt to eliminate the Siversk salient held by "Khortytsia" OSG and break through towards the Sloviansk – Kramatorsk agglomeration. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will try to break through to the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River between Yampil and Hryhorivka, and from the southeast – toward Siversk.
On the Toretsk direction, in the near future the enemy will attack Shcherbynivka and Novospaske simultaneously from the south, from the direction of Leonidivka, along both banks of the Kryvyi Torets River.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the command of the enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping and the 3rd Army, in particular, may soon change the direction of their main strike and shift it to the north of Chasiv Yar, launching an offensive on both sides of the Bakhmut–Sloviansk road along the Orikhovo-Vasylivka–Minkivka and Blahodatne–Pryvillya directions, which would allow them to break through to the forward approaches of Sloviansk directly from the southeast and create a real threat to the “Siversk” Operational Tactical Grouping (OTG) of Ukrainian Defense Forces by executing a deep flanking maneuver on its right flank. If the enemy manages to achieve operational surprise in these directions and advance to tactical depth, the situation in the Kolodyazi–Hryhorivka sector on the Lyman direction could radically deteriorate for the “Khortytsia” OSG.

Humanitarian + general:
Starting at 23:50 on May 26, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 60 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various decoy drones. As of 09:00, air defense forces neutralized 43 enemy drones. Thirty-five were shot down with firepower, and eight were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare. Drone strikes were recorded in nine locations, with debris from downed strike UAVs falling in three more.
Due to Russian shelling, parts of the Central and Dnipro districts of Kherson were left without electricity. Networks and equipment were damaged.
Two people were injured in a Russian drone attack overnight on May 27 in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Explosions occurred in the Mezhivska and Malomykhailivska communities. Various types of drones damaged an agricultural enterprise, a private home, and a vehicle.
In Sumy, around 01:30, a drone strike ignited a fire at an industrial facility and damaged vehicles. About three hours later, at approximately 04:30, occupiers carried out an airstrike on another part of the city, damaging at least seven private homes, a two-story building, and several cars. No casualties were reported.
On the morning of May 27, Russian forces dropped explosives from a drone on utility workers in Kherson’s Korabelnyi district. Six people were injured. The workers had been heading to cover windows at a social infrastructure facility damaged in a previous strike.
Two adults and a teenage girl were injured in a Russian airstrike on the Okhtyrka community in Sumy Oblast on the morning of May 27.
Around 10:00 on May 27, Russian forces dropped an FAB-500 high-explosive bomb with a universal gliding and guidance module on a residential area of Kupiansk, damaging more than 50 homes.
On May 27, 2025, around 11:20, the enemy dropped a guided aerial bomb on civilian infrastructure in the Okhtyrka community. A 44-year-old man, his 41-year-old wife, and their 17-year-old daughter were injured while traveling in a vehicle.
On the evening of May 27, the Russian army launched a ballistic missile strike on a business site on the outskirts of Nizhyn, Chernihiv Oblast. No casualties were reported. Information about the damage is being clarified.
At about 23:17 on May 26, Russian forces carried out three airstrikes with FAB-250 bombs equipped with UMPC glide modules on a residential district of Kramatorsk, injuring a family and another city resident.
In the temporarily Russian-occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk Oblasts, construction is underway on a power transmission line that could be used to restart the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, according to Greenpeace Ukraine. As of May 23, 2025, 90 kilometers of the line had been built with installed pylons. Between May 11 and 22, 15 pylons and more than 5 kilometers of line were constructed from the eastern part of Topolyne, north of Mariupol. Greenpeace suspects construction may continue across the Kalchytske Reservoir through the end of May.
