Operational situation
On the Kursk direction, fighting continued near Pogrebki, Orlovka, Novaya Sorochina, Lebedevka, Guevo, Kurilovka, and Makhnovka. The 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 18th Motorized Rifle Division, 11th Army Corps, and the 34th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 49th Army are engaged in battles for Pogrebki. The enemy is attempting to capture Orlovka, Lebedevka, and Kurilovka, advance near Sverdlivkovo, Novaya Sorochina, and Cherkasskya Konopelka, and establish fire control over the H07/P200 highway (Yunakivka–Sudzha) using UAVs.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces continued their offensive in the area of Vovchansk.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces advanced in the area of Dvorichna, Radkivka, Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Zahryzove, Nadiia, and Kopanka, moved along Sonyachna Street in the north of Dvorichna, attempted to advance north of Novomlynsk, west of Kalynove, reach Kindrashivka, and capture Holubivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked between Dvorichna and Zakhidne.
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces advanced toward Zelena Dolyna, in the area of Novolyubivka, Yampolivka, Torske, and Kolodyazi.
On the Siversk direction, Russian forces continued their offensive near Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, and Ivano-Dariivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked near and within Chasiv Yar, in the direction of Stupochky, advancing along Horkoho Street in Chasiv Yar.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces advanced near Toretsk and Krymske.
Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced along Chaikovho and K. Liebknecht Streets in the northern part of Toretsk.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces advanced in the area of Tarasivka, Vodyane Druhe, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zvirove, Leontovychi, Kotlyne, Udachne, Nadiivka, Uspenivka, Pishchane, Preobrazhenka, and Novooleksandrivka, captured the Zaporizhzhia hamlet and attempted to advance south of it, trying to move northeast of Pishchane and near Kotlyne.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, and Udachne, advanced north of Pishchane, moved into the center of Uspenivka, and are gradually pushing the enemy out of the village.
The enemy’s 74th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade retreated from Pishchane and further attempts to restore its position in this sector were unsuccessful. The 35th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 506th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division were forced to retreat from positions along the Solonenka River between Dachenske and Lysivka. The 15th and 74th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades suffered such heavy losses that they had to withdraw from Kotlyne. The enemy still holds some sections of the road to Pokrovsk in the Kotlyne area, but its attacks north of it have stopped. In the Uspenivka area, forward units of the enemy's 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment, which had earlier entrenched in the eastern part of the village, were driven out and retreated north and east of the settlement.
On the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces carried out offensive actions in the area of Andriivka, Konstyantynopil, Bahatyr, Rozdolne, and Rozlyv, advanced towards the T0515 Pokrovsk – Andriivka highway northeast of Andriivka, which they had captured the previous day.
On the Huliaypole direction, Russian forces conducted offensive actions in the area of Novoocheretuvate, Skudne, Dniproenerhiya, and Burlatske, advanced south of Novosilka, engaged in battles for Skudne, and attempted to advance south of Burlatske and northeast of Novosilka.
On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces conducted offensive actions towards Charivne, Novoandriivka, in the area of Pyatykhatky, Maly Shcherbaky, Kamianske, advanced south of Shcherbaky and northeast of Luhove, engaged in battles for Pyatykhatky, and attempted to advance towards Lobkove and south of Stepove.
General conclusion:
Russian forces experience a severe shortage of personnel on the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions. The enemy has been unable to advance in these areas for nearly two weeks but continues attempting to do so. Attacks and assaults near Kotlyne, toward Udachne and Uspenivka, and in the Pishchane area are ongoing with little to no pause. The maximum enemy troop strength on the Pokrovsk direction was around 110,000–115,000 but has now dropped to 75,000–80,000 due to the advance from Avdiivka to Pokrovsk.
The command of the enemy's "Tsentr (Center)" Operational Grouping has not abandoned its objective to capture Pokrovsk. This is evident from the deployment of four motorized rifle brigades (the 74th, 55th, 15th, and 30th) and the 433rd and 506th Motorized Rifle Regiments of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division, 2nd Army, in a relatively narrow sector from Uspenivka to Shevchenkove (Upper).
A series of successful counterattacks by Ukrainian Defense Forces south and southwest of Pokrovsk have weakened the enemy’s strike grouping and significantly reduced its offensive capabilities.
The scale and intensity of Russia’s strategic offensive operation are gradually declining. The operation is shifting toward a series of partially interconnected army-level operations on separate directions. The enemy has expended a significant portion of its strategic reserves and is unable to replenish them quickly or in full.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 110 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defensive lines 5 times towards Vovchansk, Stroyivka, and Dvorichna.
On the Kupyansk direction, there were 5 enemy attacks. Enemy assaults near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove were repelled.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 5 times, attempting to penetrate defenses near Kolodyazi, Novolyubivka, Hrekivka, and Zelena Dolyna.
On the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled an enemy attack near Hryhorivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 5 times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Novomarkove, Vasyukivka, and Stupochky.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 10 attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Krymske.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 33 enemy assault actions towards Tarasivka, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, Promin, Leontovychi, Kotlyne, Udachne, Nadiivka, and Uspenivka.
On the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy carried out 19 attacks towards Konstyantynopil, Rozdolne, Shevchenko, and Burlatske.
On the Huliaypole direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks towards Charivne.
On the Orikhiv Direction, occupation forces stormed Defense Forces' positions twice in the area of Pyatykhatky.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Mediterranean Sea: 4 ships, including 3 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 26 cruise missiles.
Supporting operation:
On the night of February 26, Ukrainain Defense Forces struck the Tuapse seaport and Tuapse oil refinery, as well as the Saky and Kacha military airfields in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 44th Army Corps operates near Sudzha, while the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the same division is engaged near Novaya Sorochina.
The 1102nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 3rd Army is advancing near Bilohorivka.
The 506th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division of the 2nd Army operates near Uspenivka, while the 228th and 428th Motorized Rifle Regiments of the 90th Tank Division of the 41st Army are deployed near Zaporizhzhia.
The 242nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Army and the 36th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army operate near Konstyantynopil.
The 100th Separate Reconnaissance Brigade of the 58th Army is active near Kamianske.
The enemy has deployed units from the 41st and 2nd Armies against the Pokrovsk Defense District of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The 51st Army conducts operations in adjacent sectors along the Novopavlivka, Kostyantynivka, and Toretsk directions. The 8th Army has completed its concentration in the Kostyantynivka and Toretsk directions. As a result, four enemy armies are now positioned along a 76–77 km front from Andriivka to Druzhba, northeast of Toretsk.
Possible operation situation developments:
Once the enemy sufficiently expands its bridgeheads on the Chornyi Zherebets River, the 25th Army, with forces of the 67th Motorized Rifle Division and the 164th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, will sharply intensify actions toward Torske and Yampolivka. This will mark the second stage of pushing "Khortytsia" OSG out of the bridgehead east of the Chornyi Zherebets River on the Lyman direction.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy command is finalizing the deployment of the 8th Combined Arms Army within the operational zone of the 51st Combined Arms Army and is expected to launch an operation shortly, aiming to break through toward the area south and west of Kostyantynivka.
The operational plan of the 8th Combined Arms Army on the Kostyantynivka direction is to envelop the tactical group of the "Khortytsia" OSG, which is defending south of Kostyantynivka between Oleksandropil and Tarasivka from the flanks. The enemy aims to encircle and destroy this group or, if unable to do so, force it to withdraw from the area south of Kostyantynivka in a northwestern direction under the threat of encirclement. The ultimate goal of these actions is a two-pronged breakthrough from the southwest and southeast toward the area of Stepanivka – Berestok – Pleshchiivka – Yablunivka, followed by a simultaneous assault on Kostyantynivka from this area and from the direction of Chasiv Yar.
After the first stage (reaching the Poltavka–Pleshchiivka line), the enemy’s 3rd Combined Arms Army, reinforced by an airborne forces group, will attempt a rapid breakthrough from the bridgehead on the Siverskyi Donets–Donbas canal in the Chasiv Yar area, advancing from the northeast toward Kostyantynivka.

Humanitarian + general:
On the night of February 27, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 166 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones. A total of 162 drones did not reach their targets—90 UAVs were shot down by air defense forces, while 72 were lost from radar. As a result of the enemy attack, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy Oblasts were affected.
A large-scale fire broke out at an industrial facility in Boryspil District, Kyiv Oblast, due to a Russian drone attack. As of 6:30 AM, the fire had been extinguished. A total of 81 rescuers and 24 units of equipment were working at the scene.
In the city of Snovsk, Chernihiv Oblast, an explosion from a Russian strike drone on the night of February 27 caused varying degrees of damage to 26 households.
On February 27, 2025, at approximately 10:10 AM, Russian forces carried out two strikes on Kramatorsk. The enemy targeted the city's residential area and industrial zone. As a result of the shelling, one civilian sustained minor injuries.
Around 10:30 AM, Russian forces attacked a man with a UAV in Kherson. A 33-year-old Kherson resident was taken to the hospital with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to the face, chest, arms, and legs.
In the morning of February 27, Russian forces attacked Kostyantynivka, Donetsk Oblast, killing one person and injuring four others. The Russians shelled the city with "Smerch" MLRS and 152mm artillery.
On February 27, 2025, Russian forces attacked the Marhanets community in Nikopol District, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with a strike drone. As a result of the strike, a 51-year-old man was killed, and a 52-year-old woman was injured.
In the afternoon of February 27, the Russian army launched a guided aerial bomb strike on the village of Slatyne in Kharkiv District, Kharkiv Oblast. According to preliminary reports, no casualties were recorded.
In Kherson Oblast, over the past day, February 26, shelling damaged 24 sites, including residential buildings, a cultural institution, a heating network, a police service vehicle, and an emergency medical ambulance. Russian forces continue targeting emergency service workers.
On February 25, Russian occupiers killed seven residents of Donetsk Oblast, while 11 others were injured.
In the settlements of Donetsk Oblast where forced evacuation of children is being conducted, 55 children remain.
