Possible operation situation developments:
On the Northern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy’s “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping is trying to reach the Mala Korchakivka – Nova Sich – Maryinka – Sadky line in the near future.
On the Kupyansk direction, the command of the enemy's "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance with forces of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division from the bridgehead near Nove toward the high ground near the village of Cherneshchyna, and with forces of the 4th Tank Division, which is advancing on converging directions Raihorodka–Cherneshchyna and Pershotravneve–Kopanky, will attempt to encircle a tactical group of the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Grouping (OSG) defending along the Novoyehorivka–Hrekivka line.
On the Lyman direction, the forces of the "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance towards the Karlivka – Shandryholove – Drobysheve line while simultaneously advancing near Torske to approach Lyman from the east. The 25th Combined Arms Army will advance in the Dibrova – Yampil direction and in the area of the Serebriansk Forest in order to break through the communication lines of the "Khortytsia" OSG.
On the Siversk direction, the command of the enemy's "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping will attempt to eliminate the Siversk salient held by "Khortytsia" OSG and break through towards the Sloviansk – Kramatorsk agglomeration. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will try to break through to the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River between Yampil and Hryhorivka, and from the southeast – toward Siversk.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the command of the enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping and the 3rd Army may shift the direction of their main strike to the north of Chasiv Yar and launch an offensive on both sides of the Bakhmut–Sloviansk road, along the directions of Orikhovo-Vasylivka–Minkivka and Blahodatne–Pryvillya. This would allow them to break through to the immediate approaches to Sloviansk directly from the southeast and create a real threat of a deep envelopment of the right flank of the “Starobilsk” Operational Tactical Group (OTG). If the enemy succeeds in achieving operational surprise along these directions and advances to tactical depth, the situation in the Kolodyazi–Hryhorivka section on the Lyman direction will deteriorate significantly for the “Kharkiv” OTG.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces will soon have to withdraw from a fairly large area on both banks of the Vovcha River and fall back to the Novopavlivka–Piddubne line.

Humanitarian + general:
Starting in the evening of June 25, Russia had attacked Ukraine with 41 Shahed-type strike UAVs and a decoy drone of various types. Twenty-four enemy drones were neutralized: 8 were shot down by kinetic means, and 16 were lost to location or suppressed by electronic warfare. There were also 7 hits.
During the night of June 26, a Russian kamikaze drone struck a five-story residential building in the city of Bilozerske, Donetsk Oblast. As a result of the attack, five people were injured, including a 15-year-old boy.
That night, Russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on Tavriiske in the Bilozerka District of Kherson Oblast, resulting in the death of a local resident.
In Kostyantynivka, Donetsk Oblast, a pharmacy was hit by Russian artillery fire, injuring two civilians who were inside the building.
At approximately 16:00 on June 26, the Russian Armed Forces launched an airstrike on an agricultural enterprise in the village of Pidlyman, Izium District. A fire broke out. A 40-year-old man sustained an explosive injury, and several cows were killed.
The occupiers deported four residents of Kostyantynivka, part of the Khotin community in Sumy Oblast, to Russia. As a result, there are now no civilians remaining in Kostyantynivka. This is the first reported case of Ukrainian civilians being deported from Russian-occupied villages in Sumy Oblast.
As part of the Istanbul agreements, on June 26 Ukraine secured the return of another group of defenders from Russian captivity. The number of individuals has not been disclosed. Most of them had been in captivity since 2022. These include persons under the age of 25, as well as wounded defenders and those with health issues.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has once again included the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the so-called “list of shame” due to widespread and systematic violations of children’s rights during its armed aggression against Ukraine. During the reporting period (2024–2025), the UN documented the killing of 94 and the injuring of 577 children. Responsibility for this “is attributed to the Russian armed forces and affiliated groups.” Additionally, 559 attacks on schools and 303 attacks on hospitals were recorded.
The majority of Ukrainians support joining the European Union and NATO. The percentage of people who would vote for Ukraine’s accession is roughly the same: 68.9% for the EU and 62.5% for NATO. Those who would vote against joining the EU account for 20.1%, and against NATO – 25.4%. An identical share of respondents — 2.9% — would not vote at all. This data comes from a survey conducted by the Janus Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts, the SOCIS Center for Social and Marketing Research, and the Barometer of Public Sentiment publication, conducted from June 6 to 11.
Some 55.7% of Ukrainians support the pursuit of a compromise solution involving leaders of other countries to end the war. Another 16.6% are in favor of a temporary freeze of the conflict along the current line of contact. About 12.8% want military action to continue until Ukraine’s borders are restored to the 1991 lines, and 8.6% support continuing combat operations until the borders are restored to those of February 23, 2022.
Current President Volodymyr Zelenskyi is trusted by 49% of Ukrainians. However, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi enjoys a higher level of trust — 71%, while Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov is trusted by 55%. Some 35% of respondents expressed trust in the commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Biletskyi. By contrast, most politicians are predominantly not trusted by Ukrainians: nearly 80% do not trust Petro Poroshenko, about 85% — Yuliia Tymoshenko, nearly 65% — Vitalii Klychko, and 66% — Oleksii Honcharenko.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on the agreement signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset on the establishment of a Special Tribunal to investigate the crime of aggression against Ukraine. She stated that Moscow does not recognize the tribunal's jurisdiction and will consider its operations and decisions “null and void,” and the accession of other states to it as a hostile move aimed not at resolution but at deepening the crisis.
