In the "Khortytsia" Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, there were 9 enemy attacks. Ukrainian defense forces repelled assaults near Pishchane, Kruhlyakivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, Vyshneve, and Pershotravneve. On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 12 times, attempting to break through the Ukrainian defenses near Hrekivka, Terny, Novomykhailivka, Torske, and Serebrianka. On the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 5 times in the areas of Stupochky, Bila Hora, and Hryhorivka. On the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 6 attacks towards Toretsk and Nelipivka.
In the "Tavriya" OSG operational zone, on the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 38 Russian assault and offensive actions near Selydove, Novotoretsk, Lysivka, Sukha Balka, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Krutyi Yar, Myrolyubivka, Krasnyi Yar, and Mykhailivka. The highest concentration of enemy attacks was near Selydove. The enemy actively used bomber and assault aviation. On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 34 attacks, with the enemy's most active attempts to advance near Katerynivka and Kreminna Balka. Additionally, the enemy attacked towards Antonivka, Novodmytrivka, Novoselydivka, Kostyantynivka, Zoryane, Hostre, and Dalnie, and actively employed aviation. On the Vremivka direction, the enemy carried out 5 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrainka, and Zolota Nyva. On the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an unsuccessful enemy attack near Novodanylivka.
In the operational zone of "Odesa" OSG on the Prydniprovskyi direction, the occupying forces made 4 unsuccessful attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defense units from their positions.
Operations continue in Kursk Oblast, with enemy aviation continuing to destroy its own villages and towns. Over the past day, Russian aircraft conducted 38 airstrikes, including 55 guided bombs, on their own territory.
On the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formation have been detected.
Along the border with Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv Oblasts, the enemy actively uses artillery and aviation against Ukrainian towns and villges from Russian territory.
General conclusion:
Ukrainian strikes on Russian ammunition depots in Oktyabrskoye and Toropets in Tver Oblast, as well as Tikhoretsk in Krasnodar Krai, shifted the firepower balance on the front line from 8:1 in favor of the enemy at the beginning of 2024 to 2:1 by early fall of 2024.
Russian forces are replacing personnel on the Kharkiv direction with newly recruited contract soldiers, instead of redeploying troops from other parts of the front.
Some Russian assault groups occasionally cross the "Seversky Donets-Donbas" canal but have not broken through Ukrainian defenses west of the canal. The enemy cannot move heavy equipment across the canal due to the fire activity of Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Ukrainian forces strike with FPV drones as deep as 27 km from Chasiv Yar (up to Pokrovsk), disrupting the enemy's logistics from Bakhmut.
The advance of Russian forces in Selydove, with the capture of positions south and north of the city, may soon force units of the Ukrainian "Tavriya" OSG to retreat from the area to avoid encirclement. Today, Ukrainian Defense Forces are focusing on defending Selydove and have significantly slowed the enemy's advance since Russian troops first began attacking the city in August 2024.
The Russian "Tsentr (Center)" Operational Grouping is likely to capture Selydove in the coming days, but the occupation of the city does not mean the capture of Pokrovsk. It will lead to the depletion of the assault group, reducing its combat effectiveness. The Ukrainian defense of Pokrovsk and its approaches (primarily the railway and M30 highway) has already halted Russian advances toward the city, and further attrition of the "Tsentr (Center)" Operational Grouping in this area will slow their progress, damaging Russian offensive prospects in Donetsk Oblast in the coming weeks.
Minefields on the Kherson direction complicate Russian logistics and hinder the delivery of ammunition and supplies.
Russian forces on the Kherson direction need unmanned naval vessels to detect mines in remote sea areas and the Dnipro River delta.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 148 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kursk Direction, OTUV "Siversk" advanced to the southern outskirts of Zelionyi Put and launched counterattacks near Plekhovo, Malaya Loknia, Pokrovskoe, and Zelenyi Put.
Russian forces recaptured Olgovka and restored positions southeast of Plekhovo.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful attacks near Vovchansk and Starytsya. Near Vovchansk, the enemy attacked using small assault groups.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces advanced west along the N26 highway, west of Kyslivka. The 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps is fighting for control of Serebrianka. The enemy advanced in the Stelmakhivka area and continued offensive actions near Holubivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Kruhlyakivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, Kolisnykivka, and Vyshneve.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Terny, and Torske.
On the Siversk direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked near Bondarne.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked northeast and east of Chasiv Yar, near Hryhorivka.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces advanced on the southern outskirts of Shcherbynivka and continued their offensive near Toretsk and Nelipivka. They are launching hourly attacks on the outskirts of New York, but Ukrainian Defense Forces have stabilized the front line and slowed the enemy's advance.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces achieved significant tactical gains in Selydove and its surroundings, advancing along Skhidna, Berehova, and Zakhysnykiv streets toward the city center. The 114th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 51st Army Corps captured Izmailivka. The enemy advanced on the northeastern outskirts of Novoselydivka and northwest of Tsukuryne, reaching the outskirts of Vyshneve via C05091 road, advancing northwest of Tsukuryne, and fighting in Hirnyk. Selydove is not an operational objective for the enemy's "Tsentr (Center)" Operational Grouping, but it ties down significant forces from the 2nd Army Corps and the 90th Tank Division on the southern flank of Pokrovsk.
On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces attacked near Hostre and Dalnie, advanced near Vuhledar, and continued offensive operations in the areas of Antonivka, Katerynivka, Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrainka, and Zolota Nyva.
On the Vremivka direction, Russian forces advanced north of Levadne, west of Staromayorske, and attacked near Velyka Novosilka.
On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces continued their offensive near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodanylivka but were unsuccessful.
On the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces continued to attack on the left bank of the Kherson Oblast but made no advances.

The 24th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 70th Motorized Rifle Division of the 18th Combined Arms Army, the 104th Airborne Regiment of the 104th Airborne Division, and the 33rd BARS detachment operate near Kherson.
Possible operation situation developments:
The command of the enemy's 25th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade on the Kupyansk direction in the near future will attempt to advance eastward and cut off all roads leading to Synkivka from the south, reach the Oskil River across from the village of Holubivka on the right bank, in order to force the "Khortytsia" OSG forward units defending in the Synkivka area to retreat towards Petropavlivka.
The command of the enemy's "Zapad (West”) Operational Grouping will intensify efforts on the Lyman direction to ensure the advance of the 25th Combined Arms Army to the Borova–Lyman line. The goal is to assist in the elimination of the Siversk bridgehead held by the Ukrainian Defense Forces and create favorable conditions for the eventual capture of the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration by the end of this year.
The enemy's military command in the theater of operations within the following 2-3 months will concentrate its efforts on achieving the military-political goal of the Special Military Operation: reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. For this purpose, they will maximize their advance towards Pokrovsk-Pavlohrad, in the direction of the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, and aiming to reach the junction of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk Oblasts near the village of Temyrivka.
By the end of this year, the enemy will not only fail to occupy Donetsk Oblast within its administrative borders but also will be unable to seize the "fortress belt" of Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk. The upcoming battle for Pokrovsk will be the climax of the enemy's offensive operation in the Southwestern Theater of Operations in 2024. October and partially November become the moment of maximum tension for both sides in the entire 2024 campaign.
