Operational situation
On the Kursk direction, Russian forces advanced southeast of Tolstyi Lug, engaged in battles for Guevo and Viktorovka, and attacked near Pogrebki, Nikolskiy, Kruglenkoe, and Kurilovka.
On the Kharkiv direction, positional battles continue in the areas of Lyptsi and Vovchansk.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces captured Dvorichna and will attempt to reach Kutkivka by attacking from positions in Zapadne. They are attempting to advance toward Dovhenke and Kindrashivka and attacked near Petropavlivka, Lozova, Zelenyi Hai, Zahryzove, Pershotravneve, Kopanky, Novoserhiyivka, and Nova Kruhlyakivka.
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked near Zelena Dolyna, Novolyubivka, Yampolivka, Zarichne, Kuzmyne, and the Serebriansk Forest.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Terny and Torske.
On the Siversk direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked near Ivano-Dariivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces are clearing territory at the refractory materials plant in the center of Chasiv Yar, fighting west of the first workshop, and struck the Ukrainian pontoon crossing in Kostyantynivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an area of enemy concentration in Kalynivka after the enemy transferred personnel there via the southern pipe of the “Siverskyi Donets–Donbas” canal.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces slightly advanced toward the Toretsk mine in the northern part of the city, west of Nelipivka, and toward Krymske. They attacked in Toretsk, as well as in the areas of Dyliivka and Krymske.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces advanced north of Novoyelyzavetivka, near Novoandriivka, Nadiivka, and Kotlyne, and attacked near Pokrovsk, Vodyane Druhe, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Zvirove, Leontovychi, Petropavlivka, Novoserhiyivka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Sribne, and in the direction of Hryshyne.
On the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces pushed Ukrainian units out of positions near Yantarne, advanced past the T0515 road west of Petropavlivka, and are advancing toward Ulakly. They continued assaults near Shevchenkove, toward Andriivka, and near Dachne, Zelenivka, Yantarne, Rozlyv, and in the direction of Konstyantynopil.
Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked positions of the 68th Tank Regiment of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division near Kurakhove.
On the Vremivka direction, Russian forces conducted over 80 strikes on Velyka Novosilka but did not fully encircle Ukrainian units in the area. Rivers near Velyka Novosilka, Mokri Yaly, Kashlyhach, and Shaitanka complicate the Ukrainian Defense Forces' maneuvering in this area. The enemy advanced along the T0518 road between Pavlivka and Velyka Novosilka, divided the settlement in half, and encircled a small Ukrainian unit in the southern part of Velyka Novosilka.
The enemy continues to advance in the northeastern and eastern parts of Velyka Novosilka, in several wooded areas south of the village, holds positions along the Mokri Yaly and Kashlyhach rivers, and attacked near Vremivka and Novodarivka.
On the Orikhiv direction, the 1455th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army attacked Ukrainian positions near Orikhiv. The 429th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 19th Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army is mining Defense Forces' logistical routes near Pyatykhatky using UAVs.
General conclusion:
On the Kupyansk bridgehead, the enemy is making efforts to expand its position in the area of Dvorichna, attempting to advance toward Zapadne, and moving toward Kupiansk by attacking from the Kyslivka–Tabaiivka line.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy has achieved some success at the refractory materials plant in Chasiv Yar but is unable to advance toward Stupochky along the Bakhmut–Kostyantynivka road.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy is advancing west of Pokrovsk, attacking in the areas of Kotlyne and Udachne. On the Baranivka–Pokrovsk section, Russian forces have made minimal progress and are focusing on forcing Ukrainian Defense Forces out of their positions through frontal assaults.
On the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy is attempting to encircle Ukrainian Defense Forces units in the area of Sribne and advance generally westward from the Slovyanka–Shevchenko and Stari Terny–Dachne lines.
On the Vremivka direction, the enemy is completing the operational encirclement of Ukrainian Defense Forces units in Velyka Novosilka, attacking from the Novyi Komar–Velyka Novosilka line and attempting to reach the banks of the Mokri Yaly River.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 119 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kharkiv direction, one combat engagement with Russian invaders took place near Lyptsi.
On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attempted nine times to push Ukrainian units out of their positions near Dvorichna, Zahryzove, and Petropavlivka.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked seven times, trying to advance near Yampil, Novoyehorivka, Zelenyi Hay, and Kopanky.
On the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled two enemy assaults near Ivan-Dariivka and Bilohorivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy launched two assaults, with activity noted near Chasiv Yar.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defense 12 times in the areas of Dyliivka, Krymske, Shcherbynivka, and Toretsk.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy intensively attacked, carrying out 63 offensive actions. The greatest activity of Russian occupiers is observed near Vodyane Druhe, Myrolyubivka, Myrnohrad, Promin, Lysivka, Vidrodzhennya, Uspenivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne.
On the Novopavlivka direction, seven enemy assaults were repelled The enemy attacked near Novodarivka, Konstyantynopil, and Velyka Novosilka.
On the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy carried out two assault actions, both successfully repelled.
On the Kursk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 12 attacks, while the enemy carried out 24 airstrikes.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Black Sea: 2 ships, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 4 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 6 ships, including 2 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 22 cruise missiles.
Supporting operation:
Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted strikes using "Liutyi" and "Bober" drones on the Ryazan Oil Refinery of Open Joint-Stock Company "Rosneft," the Novo-Ryazan Thermal Power Plant, the Dyagilevo Long-Range Aviation Airfield of the Aerospace Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the 360th Aircraft Repair Plant, and the "Kremniy" Plant in Bryansk. Overall, the air defense forces of the Aerospace Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation reported aerial engagements in 11 regions of Russia (Bryansk, Ryazan, Kursk, Saratov, Moscow, Belgorod, Voronezh, Tula, Oryol, Lipetsk regions, and over Moscow itself).
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 34th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 49th Combined Arms Army operates near Pogrebki.
The 57th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 381st Artillery Regiment of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Combined Arms Army are engaged near Dachne.
The 5th Separate Tank Brigade of the 36th Combined Arms Army operates in Velyka Novosilka, while the 37th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th Combined Arms Army is active north of Novyi Komar.
Possible operation situation developments:
The enemy command's plan for the Southwestern Theater of Military Operations during the winter campaign of 2025 may include an operation to capture Pokrovsk and the final occupation of Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, and Vovchansk. Another possible course of action could be the occupation of Kupyansk or simultaneous actions in several directions.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the "Khortytsia" OSG units will be forced to retreat to the Kostyantynivka area if the enemy reaches the Chervone–Stupochky line and simultaneously launches an offensive northward at the junction of its 41st and 51st Combined Arms Armies from the Novooleksandrivka–Arkhanhelske line, advancing to the Yablunivka–Oleksandro-Kalynove line on the Toretsk direction.
The further enemy actions on the Novopavlivka direction will aim to prevent the consolidation of "Khortytsia" OSG units in the Rozlyv–Konstyantynopil–Andriivka–Ulakly area. The Russian military command is likely to simultaneously intensify pressure with forces from the 90th Tank Division and increase efforts in the operational zone of "Vostok (East)" Operational Grouping. Troops from the 8th Combined Arms Army (20th and 150th Motorized Rifle Divisions) of the "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping are expected to participate in these actions, with some units likely being redeployed after the withdrawal of the "Khortytsia" OSG from the remaining positions at the Kurakhove bridgehead.

Humanitarian + general:
On the night of January 24, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 58 Shahed-type strike UAVs and drone imitators; 25 drones were destroyed, and another 27 were lost in different locations.
As a result of the enemy UAV attack on Kyiv Oblast in the night of January 24, 3 people were killed: a man in Hlevakha and a couple in Brovary. Additionally, a 26-year-old man was injured with burns. In Hlevakha, a 10-story building was damaged, causing a fire and destruction on the 6th and 7th floors. In Brovary, UAV debris destroyed a residential building, also igniting a fire.
Russian forces overnight shelled the village of Zelenivka in Kherson Oblast, destroying several trucks and damaging private houses and power networks.
In the suburbs of Kherson, in the village of Antonivka, as a result of a Russian drone attack around 11 a.m., an 80-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were injured. Later, after another attack, a 44-year-old man was wounded. In Kherson, around 4 p.m., a 64-year-old man, who was on the street at the time, was hit by a Russian drone.
On January 24, during the day, Russians attacked two cars moving through the territory of the Myropil community in Sumy Oblast with drones. As a result of the strike around 10:45, the car driver was injured. Around 1:45 p.m., the occupiers attacked another vehicle with a drone, injuring two civilian men.
Russian invaders throughout the day attacked the Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with kamikaze drones and artillery fire, causing damage.
Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 96 shellings using various types of weapons on the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast, parts of Sumy Oblast, and parts of Kharkiv Oblast, resulting in a total of 219 explosions.
In Zaporizhzhia, following an enemy attack that occurred the day before, the police registered 720 reports from citizens affected by the enemy strike. There is also information about damage to 50 high-rise buildings and 18 private homes.
As a result of repatriation measures, the bodies of 757 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine.
