Possible operation situation developments:
On the Northern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy’s “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping is trying to reach the Mala Korchakivka – Nova Sich – Maryinka – Sadky line in the near future.
On the Kupyansk direction, the command of the enemy's "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance with forces of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division from the bridgehead near Nove toward the high ground near the village of Cherneshchyna, and with forces of the 4th Tank Division, which is advancing on converging directions Raihorodka–Cherneshchyna and Pershotravneve–Kopanky, will attempt to encircle a tactical group of the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Grouping (OSG) defending along the Novoyehorivka–Hrekivka line.
On the Lyman direction, the forces of the "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance towards the Karlivka – Shandryholove – Drobysheve line while simultaneously advancing near Torske to approach Lyman from the east. The 25th Combined Arms Army will advance in the Dibrova – Yampil direction and in the area of the Serebriansk Forest in order to break through the communication lines of the "Khortytsia" OSG.
On the Siversk direction, the command of the enemy's "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping will attempt to eliminate the Siversk salient held by "Khortytsia" OSG and break through towards the Sloviansk – Kramatorsk agglomeration. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will try to break through to the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River between Yampil and Hryhorivka, and from the southeast – toward Siversk.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the command of the enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping and the 3rd Army, in particular, may soon change the direction of their main strike and shift it to the north of Chasiv Yar, launching an offensive on both sides of the Bakhmut–Sloviansk road along the Orikhovo-Vasylivka–Minkivka and Blahodatne–Pryvillya directions, which would allow them to break through to the forward approaches of Sloviansk directly from the southeast and create a real threat to the “Siversk” Operational Tactical Grouping (OTG) of Ukrainian Defense Forces by executing a deep flanking maneuver on its right flank. If the enemy manages to achieve operational surprise in these directions and advance to tactical depth, the situation in the Kolodyazi–Hryhorivka sector on the Lyman direction could radically deteriorate for the “Khortytsia” OSG.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces will soon have to withdraw from a fairly large area on both banks of the Vovcha River and fall back to the Novopavlivka–Piddubne line.

Humanitarian + general:
During the night of June 22, the enemy attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, one S-300 surface-to-air guided missile, and 47 UAVs. Of the 50 aerial targets launched by the occupiers, 18 drones were shot down over Ukraine, and 10 more were deemed lost from radar. Impacts were recorded at seven locations, including in Chernihiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Odesa Oblast.
That same night, Russia launched a missile strike on the Zarichnyi District of the city of Sumy. The attack damaged private residential houses.
In Odesa Oblast, Russian drone strikes caused fires. An emergency medical station and a nearby residential building sustained damage.
On the evening of June 21, Russian forces carried out seven strikes on Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast. Both an industrial area and residential neighborhoods were affected. One of the strikes damaged a multi-story residential building. At least three people were killed. Three more may still be trapped under the rubble. Four people were hospitalized with injuries, one of them in critical condition.
In the early hours of June 22, Russian forces launched another strike on Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast. A 17-year-old boy was killed, and three other people were wounded. Dozens of civilian infrastructure sites were damaged.
On the morning of June 22, Russian forces launched multiple artillery and drone attacks on Kherson. At least one person was killed, and four others were injured in various parts of the city. One of the wounded remains in critical condition in hospital.
On Sunday, June 22, Russian forces carried out a missile strike on a training ground used by one of the mechanized brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the time of the strike, training exercises were underway involving personnel. Three people died and 14 were injured.
Later that day, an enemy munition struck a multi-story residential building in one of Kherson’s districts. A fire broke out in an apartment on the third floor. Emergency workers responded under the threat of renewed strikes. One man was killed instantly, and a local woman sustained injuries.
During the day, the enemy attacked two districts in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The Nikopol District was hit with heavy artillery and drones. The enemy also dropped munitions from UAVs on populated areas. The district center, as well as the Myrivska, Chervonohryhorivska, Marhanetska, and Pokrovska communities, were affected. Infrastructure, a nine-story apartment building, and a gas pipeline were damaged. A single family home caught fire.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces shelled settlements in Donetsk Oblast 35 times. A total of 422 people were evacuated from the frontline, including 57 children.
According to the “Yellow Ribbon” resistance movement, the occupiers are allocating 1 million rubles to gymnasiums in Donetsk for the creation of so-called “truth centers.” These centers will be used to teach children how to identify “disinformation” about Donetsk and Russia. Part of the exhibition in each center must be dedicated to modern Russian war correspondents and their so-called “heroic deeds.” The first of these centers, including one at Gymnasium No. 18 in the city of Donetsk, are expected to open at the beginning of the new academic year.
According to Ukraine’s Center for National Resistance (CNR) under the Ministry of Defense, the occupation authorities in Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, plan to remove a German pipe organ from the Roman Catholic church, where it was installed in 2010. The instrument has over 1,000 pipes and weighs 4 tons. Preliminary reports suggest that the occupiers plan to dismantle the organ and transport it to the Russian Federation. The CNR noted that church services at the cathedral ceased in 2022 after Russian forces seized Berdyansk.
