On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked near Toretsk and Dyliivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces advanced on the southern outskirts of Lysivka, operated on the southwestern outskirts of Pushkyne, advanced west of Novotroitske, to the west and north of Shevchenkove, and attacked in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Promin, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Zelenyi, Pishchane, and reached a line 2 km from the village.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked in the area of Novotroitske, Shevchenkove, and Novoolenivka.
On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled an enemy assault on the flank of Kurakhove, maintained their defense, and took necessary measures to prevent the capture or encirclement in the areas of Uspenivka and Hannivka.
Russian forces advanced on the southern outskirts of Sontsivka, from Zorya to Slovyanka, near Shevchenkove, to Uspenivka and Hannivka. General conclusion:
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces are amassing troops in preparation for an offensive in the coming weeks. They conduct reconnaissance attacks with groups of 2-4 soldiers to identify vulnerabilities in Ukrainian defenses.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attempt to penetrate Ukrainian rear positions with small infantry groups. The enemy has sufficient ammunition for artillery support during each assault. Ukrainian minefields hinder the actions of Russian mechanized units.
On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces constantly change their tactics. They attack with armored vehicle columns in some areas and with small groups of infantry, motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles (quad bikes) in others. They often operate during foggy conditions, complicating the use of reconnaissance UAVs by Ukrainian forces.
The elimination of Ukrainian Defense Forces' bridgehead in the area of Uspenivka and Hannivka would allow Russian forces to align the front line along the Kurakhove–Doli–Uspenivka axis and begin advancing further west from Kurakhove to Dachne and from Uspenivka to Zelenivka.
Russian forces constantly advance on the Vremivka direction with small infantry groups, supported by aviation, UAVs, and armored vehicles. However, they suffer significant personnel losses. Despite these losses, the Russian military command is unlikely to abandon its goal of capturing Velyka Novosilka.
On the Huliaypole direction, Russian forces rotate units and prepare for assault actions using light infantry.
On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces periodically attack Ukrainian positions with the support of armored vehicles and UAVs, from which they drop chemical munitions.
The leadership of the Russian Counter-Terrorist Operation (CTO) in Kursk Oblast uses the DPRK Armed Forces contingent to carry out the most difficult tactical tasks, which involve significant losses.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 205 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted one assault near Vovchansk.
On the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Kolisnykivka, Bohuslavka, Zahryzove, and Lozova. 10 enemy attacks took place.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 24 times, trying to break through the defense near Hrekivka, Nadiya, Zelenyi Hai, Shyikivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, Torske, Dibrova, Hryhorivka, and in the direction of Cherneshchyna.
One enemy assault was repelled in the Bilohorivka area on the Siversk direction.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 6 times in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 10 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, and Dyliivka. Most of the attacks were aimed at Toretsk.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 62 attacks by the aggressor towards Myrolyubivka, Lysivka, Promin, Dachenske, Shevchenko, Novyi Trud, Zelene, Pishchane, and Pushkyne.
On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 enemy attacks. The occupiers were most active in trying to advance in the areas of Stari Terny, Sontsivka, Zorya, Kurakhove, Dalnie, Dachne, Hannivka, and Uspenivka.
On the Vremivka direction, the enemy carried out 35 assaults in the areas of Trudove, Veselyi Hai, Konstyantynopil, Sukhi Yaly, Blahodatne, Storozeve, Neskuchne.
On the Prydniprovskyi direction, 4 attacks were repelled, and the enemy had no success.
On the Kursk direction, there were 22 engagements, and the enemy carried out 13 air strikes.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Mediterranean Sea: 7 ships, including 4 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 41 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 92nd and 94th Separate SOF Brigades from the DPRK have been placed under the operational control of the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 44th Army Corps, the 810th Separate Marines Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, and the 11th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
The 39th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 68th Army Corps operates near Veselyi Hai and Konstyantynopolske.
The 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Combined Arms Army operates on the Polohy direction.
Possible operation situation developments:
On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy will try to break through the "Khortytsia" OSG defense near Kruhlyakivka and advance southward toward Bohuslavka and Nova Kruhlyakivka; attack Lozova and move toward Nova Kruhlyakivka; breach the "Khortytsia" OSG defense at Pershotravneve toward Kopanky and Novoserhiyivka, forcing Ukrainian Defense Forces to retreat from positions near Novoyehorivka under the threat of encirclement.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the "Khortytsia" OSG units will be forced to retreat to the Kostyantynivka area if the enemy reaches the Chervone–Stupochky line and simultaneously launches an offensive northward at the junction of its 41st and 51st Combined Arms Armies from the Novooleksandrivka–Arkhanhelske line, advancing to the Yablunivka–Oleksandro-Kalynove line on the Toretsk direction. If the Chasiv Yar Refractory Materials Plant is lost, it will be under enemy control by the end of December.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy will attempt to advance to the Novotroitske–Ukrainka line, which would achieve two operational objectives: bypassing the flank of Ukrainian Defense Forces units holding Zorya and Sontsivka and simultaneously creating favorable conditions for enveloping Pokrovsk from the south.
If the enemy advances to the area where the Vovcha and Solona rivers converge near Dachne from the north, the position of Ukrainian Defense Forces units in Kurakhove will become critically complicated unless they manage to retreat in time.
On the Vremivka direction, intense battles for Velyka Novosilka are expected to unfold soon, as the enemy's future ability to organize and carry out a further offensive toward Rozlyv and Bahatyr, as well as to conduct a deep flanking maneuver against the Ukrainian Defense Forces' grouping from the south, depends on it. The enemy command will soon attempt to cut off all "Khortytsia" OSG’s communication lines in Velyka Novosilka. The enemy will once again attempt to break through towards Novyi Komar or in the direction of Dniproenerhiya.
By the end of the current year, the enemy will not succeed in seizing the "belt of fortresses" Kostyantynivka – Druzhkivka – Kramatorsk – Sloviansk or occupying Donetsk Oblast. The upcoming battle for Pokrovsk will mark the apex of the enemy’s offensive operation in the Southwestern Theater of Operations in 2024.
The enemy's military command in the theater of operations until March 2025 will be creating conditions to achieve the military-political goal of the “Special Military Operation”: reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts and the junction of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk Oblasts near the village of Temyrivka.
