In the operational zone of the Ukrainian Operational Group of Forces (OTG) "Kharkiv" there were 4 battles on the Kharkiv direction. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy assaults near Vovchansk, Hatyshche, Hlyboke, and Lyptsi.
In the "Khortytsia" Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, there were 11 clashes near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, and Stelmakhivka. On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 24 times near Kopanky, Hrekivka, Tverdokhlibove, Makiivka, Nevske, Yampolivka, Torske, Serebryanka, and Bilohorivka. On the Siversk direction, there were 3 combat engagements. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy assaults near Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, and Vyimka. On the Kramatorsk direction, 4 combat engagements occurred in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Andriivka. On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked 6 times near Dachne, Toretsk, and Nelipivka.
In the "Tavriya" OSG operational zone, on the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 28 enemy assaults in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Myrolyubivka, Novotroitske, Selydove, Mykhailivka, Novohrodivka, and Hrodivka. On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 43 enemy attacks toward Ukrainsk, Zhelanne Pershe, Heorhiivka, Kostyantynivka, and Katerynivka. On the Vremivka direction, the enemy attempted 10 assaults near Katerynivka, Vuhledar, and Zolota Nyva.
In the operational zone of "Odesa" OSG on the Prydniprovskiy direction, the enemy was defeated after 5 failed attempts to attack Ukrainian defensive lines.
General conclusion:
The enemy's command is actively implementing the deployment of the "Kursk" operational group into a two-echelon operational formation along key directions of the R-200 Sudzha - Kursk highway and the Sudzha - Rylsk road, building up battalion defense areas.
The shortage of forces in the enemy's "Sever (North)" operational group, needed for organizing and conducting intensive combat operations in the Kursk operational direction, is compensated by additional regrouping of forces and resources from the highly mobile component of their grouping—airborne and naval infantry units.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces are increasingly using light armored vehicles and occasionally deploying heavy ones but are not building up strength near Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Vovchansk, or other border villages in the northern part of Kharkiv Oblast.
The rationale behind the battles for the islands in the Dnipro Delta is the enemy's attempt to completely push Ukrainian Defense Forces units to the right bank and gain full control over the main channel of the Dnipro along the entire stretch of its delta. Neither side is currently prepared to conduct an offensive operation involving a crossing of the Dnipro River.
Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups have significantly decreased their activity along the Russian-Ukrainian border in Sumy Oblast.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 138 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kursk Direction, near Khomutovka, "Siversk" OTG crossed the border along the E101 highway and reached the intersection of this road with the A142 and M3 highways.
West of Glushkovo and south of Korenevo, the enemy dislodged a significant portion of the UAV battalion of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade through airstrikes. This allowed the 51st Airborne Regiment and the 173rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the 106th Airborne Division to advance from the north to Snagost. Additionally, the 155th Separate Marines Brigade of the Pacific Fleet managed to enter the villages of 10 Let Oktiabria and Apanasovka. The result was an encircling attack that forced the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade to withdraw from Krasnooktyabrskoe and Komarovka. Subsequently, "Siversk" OTG counterattacked the flank of the 51st Airborne Regiment and the 155th Separate Marines Brigade. The enemy suffered significant losses while trying to secure Snagost (one of the companies of the 51st Airborne Regiment lost 71 soldiers out of 100) and repelled the enemy's assault on Obukhovka. The 155th Separate Marines Brigade attacked Obukhovka at night, attempting to advance to Tolstyi Luh, south of Liubimovka, but was once again pushed back by a flank counterattack.
"Siversk" OTG troops crossed the state border, overcame minefields, struck the rear of the 155th Separate Marines Brigade, captured Novyi Put, Obukhovka, and advanced westward, northward, and eastward, taking control of Volfino, Vesyeloe, Obody, and Medvezhie.
The 22nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 36th Separate Marines Brigade are engaged in battles near Snagost. The 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade is attacking along the line of Olgovka – Sheptukhovka – Kauchuk, while the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade is attempting to encircle units of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps at Bolshoe Soldatskoe. The 153rd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade is attacking positions of the 11th Separate Air Assault Brigade in Kozyrevka. Units of the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 14th Army Corps have been engaged on the direction of Bolshoe Soldatskoe.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully attacked near Hlyboke, Hatyshche, and Vovchansk.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces advanced into northern Petropavlivka, along the ravine southwest of Pishchane, and continued offensive actions near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka, Stelmakhivka, towards Lozova, under Kopanky, and near Druzhelyubivka.
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces advanced in Makiivka, attacked near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Yampolivka, Torske, Serebryanka, and are intensifying strikes with TOS-1A systems.
On the Siversk Direction, Russian forces continued their unsuccessful assaults near Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, and Vyimka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces advanced west of Klishchiivka, consolidating control over this area, forming a bridgehead for offensive actions to support attempts to cross the Siversky Donets – Donbas Canal west of Klishchiivka. The enemy advanced near Ivanivske. Battles continued near Chasiv Yar, Andriivka, and Stupochky.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces made slight progress in the eastern part of Toretsk, continuing offensive actions near Dachne, Nelipivka, and New York.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made slight advances northwest of Mykhailivka, within Hrodivka and near Ukrainsk. Battles continue in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Myrolyubivka, Novotroitske, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Mykhailivka, Ukrainsk, and Zhelanne Pershe.
Russian forces destroyed several bridges near Pokrovsk, including a bridge on the T0504 Bakhmut – Pokrovsk highway between Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, complicating logistical support for "Tavriya" OSG units in this area and setting the stage for a future offensive on Pokrovsk and nearby villages. A strike was also made on the bridge on the eastern outskirts of Selydove with an X-38 air-to-surface missile.
On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces continued offensive actions near Heorhiivka, but no changes were observed on the front line. The enemy is attempting to advance north of Krasnohorivka and Hostre, continuing offensive actions near Kostyantynivka, Vodyane, and Vuhledar.
On the Vremivka direction, Russian forces continued offensive actions near Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva but failed.
On the Orikhiv direction, positional battles continued in the area of Robotyne. Russian forces intensively shell Ukrainian positions, many of which are located in the "gray zone" or areas of positional fighting. Ukrainian Defense Forces need to establish new positions.
On the Prydniprovskiy direction, intense fighting continues on the islands in the Dnipro River Delta, particularly on Milyi, Kozatskyi, Bilohrudyi, and several other islands.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Black Sea: 16 ships, including 7 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 48 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 5 ships, 4 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 32 cruise missiles.
The command of the Russian Black Sea Fleet has limited the use of its ships for missile strikes with Kalibr cruise missiles to its submarine forces. In Novorossiysk, 3 Project 636.3 "Varshavyanka" submarines are on high alert. The approximate launch area for cruise missiles is 15-20 miles southwest of Miskhako. Recently, the Project 636.3 "Veliky Novgorod" (B-268) submarine was spotted maneuvering in this area.
Russian forces have deployed S-500 air defense systems in Crimea (in total, the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Armed Forces have 16 S-500 launchers), and "Pantsir-S1" systems near the Kerch Bridge on the northern and southern sides of Tuzla Island. Observation posts, machine gun nests, anti-aircraft positions, and electronic warfare equipment have been set up along the entire bridge.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
On the Prydniprovskiy direction, combat operations are being conducted by the 144th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, the 28th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 70th Motorized Rifle Division, the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the 18th Army, the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 58th Army, the 337th Air Assault Regiment of the 104th Air Assault Division, and the 61st Separate Marines Brigade of the Northern Fleet.
The 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army is operating near Serebryanka.
A UAV unit of the 4th Military Base of the 58th Army is active in the Kamianske area.
Within the "Viking" OTG of the Armed Forces of Belarus, a rocket artillery battery of the 77th Rocket Artillery Battalion of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade, equipped with "Polonez" MLRS (up to four units), is concentrated in the Zyabrivka area. The 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade has formed the 79th Rocket Artillery Battalion with "Polonez" MLRS.
Escalation indicators:
A sharp increase in the enemy's naval group in the Black and Mediterranean Seas, primarily the deployment of platforms carrying Kalibr cruise missiles. The total salvo is 72 missiles.
Possible operation situation developments:
The enemy's command on the theater of operations must conduct strategic regrouping between operational zones and reinforce the "Tsentr (Center)"Operational Grouping on the Toretsk direction with at least a corps. For this purpose, the 3rd Army Corps may be redeployed to this direction from the Kramatorsk direction, or the main forces of the 51st Army may be concentrated.
"Tavriya" OSG will not be able to hold the Zhelanne Pershe – Zhelanne Druhe line, as the enemy is already on the western bank of the Vovcha River and is actively advancing along it in a southern direction (Danylivka – Hirnyk). The situation could be salvaged if the "Tavriya" OSG forces reliably hold the Hirnyk – Kurakhivka line, though this remains uncertain.
The enemy will likely attempt to encircle “Tavriya” OSG units on the eastern bridgehead of the Vovcha River, advancing towards Nevelske. They plan to engage the main forces of the 51st Combined Arms Army and the 90th Tank Division of the 41st Combined Arms Army to secure the right flank of the 2nd Combined Arms Army in the Selidove area along the Hirnyk-Kurakhivka line. Meanwhile, the 2nd Combined Arms Army will continue to push its offensive towards Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
By the end of this year, the enemy will not only fail to occupy Donetsk Oblast within its administrative borders but also will be unable to seize the "fortress belt" of Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk. The upcoming battle for Pokrovsk will be the climax of the enemy's offensive operation in the Southwestern Theater of Operations in 2024.
We should expect enemy attempts to repeat the tactical maneuver they used at the beginning of the assault on Chasiv Yar: concentrating a large grouping of forces in a narrow sector, creating high tactical density in their formations, while deploying reserves dispersed along the entire front. Until then, the enemy will continue its frontal assault towards Pokrovsk from the southeast, advancing along the Avdiivka-Pokrovsk railway in a relatively narrow corridor (up to 5 km wide) between the Solonenka and Zhuravka rivers.
