Operational situation
In the "Khortytsia" Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, there were 23 enemy attacks. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled assaults near Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Kolisnykivka, Kruhlyakivka, Myasozharivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Vyshneve, and Lozova. On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 19 times, trying to advance toward Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Nevske, Novosadove, and Torske. On the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks near Verkhnyokamianske, Ivano-Dariivka, and Vyimka. On the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 9 times in the areas of Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky. On the Toretsk direction, the enemy, with air support, carried out 15 attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
In the "Tavriya" OSG operational zone, on the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces halted 36 enemy assault and offensive actions toward Myrolyubivka, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Selydove, Novotroitske, Myrnohrad, and Mykhailivka. On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 47 attacks. The enemy was most active in attempting to advance in the areas of Izmailivka, Hirnyk, Kurakhivka, Zhelanne Druhe, Tsukuryne, Novodmytrivka, Novoselydivka, Heorhiivka, Kostyantynivka, Kurakhove, Zoryane, Dalnie, and Antonivka. On the Vremivka direction, the enemy carried out 4 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Bohoyavlenka, using assault and bomber aviation. On the Orikhiv direction, 1 enemy attack was repelled near Robotyne.
In the operational zone of "Odesa" OSG on the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions 9 times, suffered heavy losses, and were repelled.
No signs of enemy offensive group formations have been detected on the Volyn and Polissya directions. On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy Oblasts, the enemy actively uses artillery and aviation from Russian territory to strike Ukrainian villages.
The operation in Kursk Oblast continues.
General conclusion:
Russian forces continued their offensive on the left flank of the Ukrainian salient in the Korenevo District and on the right flank of the Ukrainian salient in the Sudzha District of Kursk Oblast.
The enemy is attempting to regain control over 13 towns and villages in Kursk Oblast, battles in these areas are ongoing.
Russian aviation in the Chasiv Yar area primarily conducts bombing raids on rear positions rather than the front lines.
Since March of this year, Ukrainian Defense Forces have targeted and damaged 33 fuel and lubricant storage facilities on Russian territory.

There were 186 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kursk Direction, fierce battles for Liubimovka continue. "Siversk" OTG units have regained several positions lost in recent days. A difficult tactical situation has developed in the areas of Zelionyi Shliakh and Novoivanovka. The enemy was pushed out of the latter, and clearance operations are ongoing. "Siversk" OTG holds positions near Noviy Put, Obod, and Medvezhye.
Units of the 56th, 119th, and 137th Airborne Regiments of the 106th Airborne Division launched counterattacks and pushed "Siversk" OTG away from Obukhovka and Vesioloe, entered Tolstyi Lug. The 137th Airborne Regiment reached the last street in Liubimovka. Units of the 155th Separate Marines Brigade reached the northwestern outskirts of Sudzha and entered Novoivanovka.
Russian troops continued to clear forested areas adjacent to the international border with Sumy region in the Glushkovo district, taking control of territories from Kremiannoe to Olgovka, advancing to the central part of the latter, and continuing counterattacks.
The enemy is trying to regain control of Zelionyi Shliakh, Nizhniy Klin, achieving success near Malaya Loknia, and attacking near Daryino, Plekhovo, and Sverdlovka.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops continued their offensive in the area of Tykhe but did not advance. The enemy lacks personnel.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops advanced south of Stepova Novoselivka, continuing assaults in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Novoosynove, Kruhlyakivka, Kolisnykivka, Lozova, Pishchane, Myasozharivka, and Vyshneve.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Katerynivka, Terny, Zarichne, and Torske.
On the Siversk direction, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Ivano-Dariivka, and Vyimka, with no success.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops continued their offensive in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, Ivanivske, and Stupochky but did not advance.
On the Toretsk direction, heavy urban battles continue in Toretsk, with the frontline in the city being quite dynamic compared to elsewhere on the frontline. Russian troops advanced 1.3 km deep to the northwest of New York and closer to the "Central" mine in the southern and central areas of Toretsk, continuing their offensive near Dachne, Dyliivka, Nelipivka, Shcherbynivka, and Petrivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops advanced 800 meters west of Krasnyi Yar, 400 meters on the northeastern outskirts of Selydove, and along the railway north of Novohrodivka, continuing their offensive in the areas of Myrnohrad, Myrolyubivka, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Selydove, Mykhailivka, Izmailivka, Hirnyk, Kurakhivka, Zhelanne Druhe, Tsukuryne, Novodmytrivka, Zoryane, and Novoselydivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked northwest of Novohrodivka and restored their positions. The 15th Separated Brigade of Operative Purpose of the National Guard successfully conducts defensive battles in Selydove, repelling attacks from the enemy’s 27th Motorized Rifle Division.
On the Kurakhove direction, Russian troops continued their offensive but did not achieve success. The enemy tried to advance in the depths near Maksymilianivka, attacking in the area of Kurakhove and Heorhiivka. Russian aviation carried out 20 bombing strikes, employing attack helicopters. Units of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Army are engaged in a battle for control of Ostrivske.
On the Vremivka direction, Russian troops slightly advanced along the forest strip northwest of Vodyane, continuing their offensive in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Antonivka, Katerynivka, Vodyane, Bohoyavlenka, Zolota Nyva, Rivnopil, Novoukrainske, Novodaryivka, Levadne, and Olhivske. They carried out a missile strike on the bridge over the Saldoka River in Yelyzavetivka with an X-38 "air-surface" missile, complicating the logistics for Ukrainian Defense Forces units in the area of Katerynivka.
On the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops advanced northwest of Robotyne, conducting an offensive near Kamianske, but the Kamianske reservoir complicates the enemy's military transportation in this area.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Black Sea: 2 ships, including 2 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 2 ships, 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 4 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 22nd Separate SOF Brigade, which had been active in western Zaporizhzhia Oblast as of September, is currently operating in Kursk Oblast.
Units from the 82nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 69th Motorized Rifle Division, 6th Combined Arms Army, and the 128th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 44th Army Corps are engaged near Vovchansk. The 16th Separate SOF Brigade is involved on the Kharkiv direction.
Units of the 14th Separate SOF Brigade are in action north of Vuhledar. Units from the 36th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Combined Arms Army are active near Bohoyavlenka.
Units of the 60th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 5th Combined Arms Army are positioned near Pryiutne.
Possible operation situation developments:
Ukrainian Defense Forces are expected to leave Toretsk and Selydove in the short term.
The enemy's military command in the theater of operations within the following 2-3 months will concentrate its efforts on achieving the military-political goal of the Special Military Operation: reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. For this purpose, they will maximize their advance towards Pokrovsk-Pavlohrad, in the direction of the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, and aiming to reach the junction of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk Oblasts near the village of Temyrivka.
The command of the enemy's "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping will likely attempt to build on its success after capturing the city of Vuhledar by advancing to the Kurakhove-Bohoyavlenka line. Securing a breakthrough toward Kurakhove remains the primary objective for the enemy's "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping, particularly its 20th and 150th Motorized Rifle Divisions of the 8th Combined Arms Army. However, they are unlikely to achieve this without additional reserves.
By the end of this year, the enemy will not only fail to occupy Donetsk Oblast within its administrative borders but also will be unable to seize the "fortress belt" of Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk. The upcoming battle for Pokrovsk will be the climax of the enemy's offensive operation in the Southwestern Theater of Operations in 2024. October and partially November become the moment of maximum tension for both sides in the entire 2024 campaign.

Humanitarian + general:
During the night of October 13, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 68 strike drones, as well as four Iskander-M missiles and two X-59 missiles. A total of 31 Russian drones were shot down, and another 36 drones were lost in various regions of Ukraine. The occupiers used missiles to strike Poltava, Odesa, Chernihiv, and Sumy Oblast.
Zelensky: Russia has dropped 900 aerial bombs on Ukraine this week. In addition to the bombs, Russia attacked using 40 missiles and 400 strike drones of various types.
During the night and morning, Russian troops carried out 11 shelling attacks of border areas and villages in Sumy Oblast, resulting in 50 explosions.
On October 13, the Russian army carried out at least two airstrikes on Derhachi near Kharkiv. There have been no reports of casualties among the civilian population.
Russian forces launched airstrikes on the city of Hlukhiv in Sumy Oblast, damaging over 20 houses, vehicles, agricultural buildings, and gas networks.
In Kherson Oblast, Russian troops shelled Bilozerske with artillery, injuring one man.
Over the past day, on October 12, the invaders struck 329 times across 13 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Four people were injured as a result of Russian attacks.
Russian occupiers shot nine Ukrainian soldiers who had surrendered in Kursk Oblast. This incident occurred on October 10 near Zelenyi Shliakh. The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has initiated an investigation.
