Possible operation situation developments:
The "Kursk" Group of Forces of the enemy’s "Sever (North)" Operational Grouping will attempt to advance toward the Khotin–Khrapivshchyna line.
On the Kupyansk direction, the command of the enemy's "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance with forces of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division from the bridgehead near Nove toward the high ground near the village of Cherneshchyna, and with forces of the 4th Tank Division, which is advancing on converging directions Raihorodka–Cherneshchyna and Pershotravneve–Kopanky, will attempt to encircle a tactical group of the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Grouping (OSG) defending along the Novoyehorivka–Hrekivka line.
On the Lyman direction, the forces of the "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will advance towards the Karlivka – Shandryholove – Drobysheve line while simultaneously advancing near Torske to approach Lyman from the east. The 25th Combined Arms Army will advance in the Dibrova – Yampil direction and in the area of the Serebriansk Forest in order to break through the communication lines of the "Khortytsia" OSG.
On the Siversk direction, the command of the enemy's "Yug (South)" Operational Grouping will attempt to eliminate the Siversk salient held by "Khortytsia" OSG and break through towards the Sloviansk – Kramatorsk agglomeration. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will try to break through to the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River between Yampil and Hryhorivka, and from the southeast – toward Siversk.
On the Toretsk direction, in the near future the enemy will attack Shcherbynivka and Novospaske simultaneously from the south, from the direction of Leonidivka, along both banks of the Kryvyi Torets River.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the command of the enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping and the 3rd Army, in particular, may soon change the direction of their main strike and shift it to the north of Chasiv Yar, launching an offensive on both sides of the Bakhmut–Sloviansk road along the Orikhovo-Vasylivka–Minkivka and Blahodatne–Pryvillya directions, which would allow them to break through to the forward approaches of Sloviansk directly from the southeast and create a real threat to the “Siversk” Operational Tactical Grouping (OTG) of Ukrainian Defense Forces by executing a deep flanking maneuver on its right flank. If the enemy manages to achieve operational surprise in these directions and advance to tactical depth, the situation in the Kolodyazi–Hryhorivka sector on the Lyman direction could radically deteriorate for the “Khortytsia” OSG.

Humanitarian + general:
On the night of June 12, Russia attacked Ukraine with 63 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones. As of 09:00, air defense forces had neutralized 49 enemy UAVs: 28 were shot down by kinetic means, and 21 were lost from radar or suppressed by electronic warfare. Strikes were recorded in 7 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in 4 others.
During the night, at least three explosions were heard in Kharkiv as drones struck the city. One impact hit the courtyard of a school, and another struck residential high-rises. Eighteen people were injured, including children.
Russian forces also attacked the south of Odesa Oblast overnight, causing a large-scale fire. Warehouses storing reeds and processing equipment were destroyed. No casualties were reported.
At 10:40 on June 12, enemy forces attacked the village of Illinivka in Kramatorsk District, Donetsk Oblast, using an FPV drone. A 79-year-old woman, who was near a public transport stop, suffered fatal injuries. A 52-year-old bus driver and a passenger were also wounded.
Around 13:00, Russian troops struck a civilian car in the village of Mykolaypillia in the Druzhkivka community with another FPV drone. A 35-year-old man was killed, and two other civilians sustained blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, and abrasions. They were transported to the hospital.
On June 12, the Russian military attacked the village of Zolochiv in Kharkiv Oblast with a guided aerial bomb, injuring five people, including an 11-year-old boy.
In the Huliaypole community of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, four Russian airstrikes left one person wounded and destroyed several houses, one of which caught fire.
As part of the Istanbul agreements, on June 12 Ukraine secured the return of another group of defenders from Russian captivity. These individuals had suffered severe injuries and are seriously ill. This is the second phase of the repatriation of severely wounded and gravely ill soldiers. Some had previously been listed as missing in action.
There are over 70,000 people in Ukraine officially listed as missing under special circumstances. However, according to the Commissioner for Missing Persons, Artur Dobroserdov, it will only be possible to determine the fate of many of them after the war or the end of active hostilities.
A majority of Ukrainians — 63% — continue to have a positive view of the United States overall, while 29% view it negatively. There is, however, a significant distinction in attitudes toward ordinary Americans versus the U.S. government. Ninety percent view ordinary Americans positively (and only 3% negatively). At the same time, 68% have a negative view of the U.S. leadership, while 24% view it positively, according to a KIIS survey conducted from May 15 to June 3.
