General conclusion:
The military-political leadership of the Russian Federation has implemented a counterterrorism operation regime in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk Oblasts.
There is a noticeable shift in the focus of the enemy's aviation efforts in the theater of operations. Up to 50% of all guided bomb strikes (KAB) now target the territories of Kursk and Sumy Oblasts.
The redeployment of enemy troops from the frontline will proceed more slowly. The most combat-ready forces may begin arriving in Kursk Oblast in the coming days.
Due to poor coordination and identification issues among the enemy forces on the Kursk direction, incidents of friendly fire have increased. For instance, in the Bolshe-Soldatsky district, on the Diakonovo–Sudzha highway, two cars carrying Russian Armed Forces personnel were ambushed by Russian troops. As a result of the clash, 8 people were killed, including 2 officers.
The number of Russian prisoners of war on the Kursk direction since the start of the operation is estimated at 600.
Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted an airstrike using UAVs on the Lipetsk airbase. An aviation munitions depot was destroyed, including over 700 UMPC kits and a significant quantity of FAB-250, FAB-500, and FAB-1500 bombs. The number of damaged aircraft is being clarified.
Russian troops have begun using AGS-17 and AGS-30 automatic grenade launchers equipped with DS-T4 sights, which have a laser rangefinder and ballistic computer;
Russian forces are increasingly using K-51 and RG-VO chemical grenades, which are prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention. The enemy used chemical agents 358 times in July 2024 and 3,570 times from February 15, 2023, to July 24, 2024.

In Kursk Oblast, they advanced eastward to Plekhovoye (southeast of Sudzha) on the left bank of the Psel River. Battles continued near Snagost, on the northern outskirts of Malaya Loknya, where the enemy counterattacked.
Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced west of Sudzha and within the town itself, north of Sudzha near Kazachya Loknya, northeast of Leonidovo, and in Dmitryukovo. They are operating near Martynovka, in the areas of Vtoroy Knyazhiy, Ivnitsa, Zaoleshchenka, Ruskoe Porychye, Kromskiye Byki, near Goncharovka, and have taken control of the area near Korenevo, controlling Novoivanovka and Lyubimovka. On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces stormed near Sotnytsky Kozachok and captured the village, pushing Ukrainian Defense Forces units out of Lukashivka in Sumy Oblast, and continued their advance near Vovchansk. The enemy is conducting reconnaissance and engaging in small-scale sabotage operations in the border areas northwest of Kharkiv and in Sumy Oblast.

On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces made slight advances along Lisova Street within Kalynivka, further west of the "Siversky Donets–Donbas" canal in the "Zhovtnevy" neighborhood and continued offensive actions in the "Novyi" neighborhood, near Ivanivka, close to Stupochky, Biloha Hora, and Dyliivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a missile strike on the enemy's air defense elements, hitting two S-350 radar stations and an S-300 radar station.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces advanced to Horlivska Street in the center of New York and were advancing near Pivnichne, Zalizne, and Panteleimonivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces advanced west of Novooleksandrivka, within Ivanivka, north of Serhiivka, and reached the eastern outskirts of Hrodivka, operating at a distance of 15-17 km from Pokrovsk. The enemy attacked near Vozdvyzhenka, Lysychne, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka, and Karlivka.

In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Black Sea: 2 ships, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 4 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 1 ship, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 4 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The enemy has begun transferring reserves to the Kursk direction. Two battalions from the 7th Air Assault Division have moved from the Prydniprovskiy direction, while the 38th and 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades have been redirected from the Zaporizhzhia direction. Up to three battalions have been transferred from the Kupyansk direction, and units of the 810th Separate Marines Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, which recently arrived from the Prydniprovskiy direction after exhausting battles, have been moved from the Pokrovsk direction. Units of the 138th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, and the 79th, 272nd, and 1009th Motorized Rifle Regiments (up to a battalion from each regiment with reinforcement assets) have arrived on the Kursk direction from the Kharkiv direction and are concentrating in designated areas. Up to two companies have begun redeployment from the Graivoron district of the Russian Belgorod Oblast, particularly from the vicinity of Sotnytsky Kozachok. Units of the "African Corps" from the Krasnodar Krai are also being transferred (this information is being verified).
On August 9, a missile strike by Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted 14 vehicles transporting reserves from the Kharkiv direction to the Kursk direction. Up to a battalion of infantry, likely from the 44th Army Corps, was destroyed. According to some estimates, this could have been infantry from the "Pyatnashka" brigade.
Escalation indicators:
Successful development of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' operation in the Russian Kursk Oblast.
Possible operation situation developments:
To stabilize the situation in the Kursk Oblast, the Russian military command may consider several options to counter the Ukrainian Defense Forces' incursion: deploying available forces and assets, including conscripted soldiers, FSB border troops, the National Guard, and other irregular forces already stationed near the international border; employing the "Sever (North)" Operational Grouping, either partially or in full; utilizing accumulated operational reserves; or conducting an airborne assault operation using the Russian Aerospace Forces.
On the Kupyansk direction, in the operational zone of the 1st Tank Army, command of the enemy's "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will attempt to reach the Oskil River in the Hlushkivka – Zahryzove sector, the Petropavlivka – Kurylivka line, and storm Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction. To bind the “Khortytsia" OSG forces, the enemy will exert frontal pressure on their positions in the Stepova Novoselivka area.
In the near future, "Tavriya" OSG units will be forced to retreat westward beyond the Vovcha River under simultaneous pressure from the enemy's 27th Motorized Rifle Division, 90th Tank Division, and 114th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. There is a high probability of an enemy breakthrough between Mezhove and Skuchne in the general direction of Komyshivka.
The command of the enemy's 150th Motorized Rifle Division and 110th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade is preparing to continue the offensive along the Krasnohorivka – Hostre railway in the near future, provided the situation stabilizes in the area of Pobieda village.
