They attacked toward Kucheriv Yar, near Shakhove, Zaporizhzhia, and Pokrovsk; toward Hryshyne; and near Rodynske, Fedorivka, Krasnyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Rivne, Roh, Promin, Myrnohrad, Hrodivka, Lysivka, Novohrodivka, Zelene, Dachenske, Pishchane, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske. Small assault groups approach Highway T0515 Pokrovsk–Dobropillya east of Pokrovsk and engage in combat in the northern part of the city. The enemy tries to transfer reinforcements to Zatyshok and Krasnyi Lyman.

According to the assessment of the Defense Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the enemy will not be able to capture the entire Donetsk Oblast by the end of 2025, but it will be able, at the beginning of winter, to reach the approaches to Zaporizhzhia and the Sloviansk–Kramatorsk agglomeration, and, not earlier than the end of the year, to capture Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Kupyansk, provided that the current dynamics of hostilities are maintained.
On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy’s 6th Army troops will attempt to bypass Kupyansk as deeply as possible in the general direction of the Chuhuiv– Kupyansk highway and will fight for the area of Mala Shapkivka–Velyka Shapkivka–Kindrashivka–Tyshchenkivka.
On the Lyman direction, the troops of the enemy’s 20th Combined Arms Army will attempt to reach the Siverskyi Donets River along the widest possible front, cut all main routes that do not cross the river, and block the town of Lyman from the northwest, for which they will advance toward the area of Yarova–Novoselivka–Drobysheve–Pryshyb. Ukrainian Defense Forces’ 11th Army Corps will continue to defend along the Novoselivka–Stavky line.
The enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping will attack in the directions of Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka and Druzhkivka, attempting to cut the H20 highway Kostyantynivka–Sloviansk, which will complicate the logistics of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ 19th Army Corps in Kostyantynivka. The enemy will deliver concentric strikes simultaneously from Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, the Kleban-Byk Reservoir, and from the Poltavka–Novoolenivka line.
In the Dobropillya area, troops of the 51st Combined Arms Army will be pushing Ukrainian Defense Forces out of the Sofiivka – Volodymyrivka – Pankivka – Shakhove area. The command of the “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping will attempt to envelop the Pokrovsk defense area of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the flanks, break through on the left flank of the 2nd Combined Arms Army to the road to Pavlohrad and in the center of the 51st Combined Arms Army’s offensive strip to the area north of Pokrovsk. Units of the 1st, 110th, 114th, and 39th Separate Motorized RIfle Brigades of the 51st Army will make maximum efforts to hold the area of Zatyshok–Fedorivka–Razyne–Krasnyi Lyman (size 7 by 5 km). The enemy’s 40th, 155th, and 61st Separate Marine Brigades and the 177th Separate Marine Regiment will attack Shakhove and Sofiivka.
The forward units of the enemy’s 2nd Combined Arms Army will attempt to advance from the Pokrovsk industrial zone in a north-eastern direction toward Rodynske and the T-shaped intersection of roads to Dobropillya and Hryshyne to encircle elements of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of Ukrainian Defense Forces in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
The intention of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ command to completely eliminate the 51st Army’s bridgehead on the Kazennyi Torets River will be extremely difficult to implement in practice. Further defense of Myrnohrad, or at least its southern part, appears questionable. The Defense Forces command will attempt to eliminate the enemy’s northeastern flank of the bridgehead and push elements of the 51st Army back beyond the Kazennyi Torets River in the directions Sukhetske–Razyne and Sukhetske–Fedorivka. At the same time, the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Defense Forces will hold the northern part of Pokrovsk and clear the industrial zone.
On the Oleksandrivka direction, the “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping will concentrate its main efforts in the offensive sectors of the 5th and 36th Combined Arms Armies, attempting to flank the 17th Army Corps’ Huliaypole defense area of Ukrainian Defense Forces. The enemy, with forces from the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Combined Arms Army and the 57th, 60th, 37th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades, the 5th Separate Tank Brigade, and the 69th Separate Cover Brigade of the 35th Combined Arms Army on the Oleksandrohrad – Verbove sector, will attempt to break through to the Pokrovske – Kolomiytsi – Novooleksandrivka – Vidradne area and cut the T0401 Pokrovske – Huliaypole highway. With part of its forces, the aggressor will advance in the Novoivanivka – Uspenivka direction.
On the Orikhiv direction, the “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue a local offensive operation, attempting to break through along the left bank of the Dnipro River from the Plavni – Kamianske line toward Stepnohirsk and from the Stepove – Mali Shcherbaky line in the northern direction.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the command of the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue trying to take control of most of the island zone in the Dnipro delta in the direction of Kherson, will try to create a tactical bridgehead on the right bank, and to eliminate the tactical bridgeheads of the 30th Marine Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of the automobile and railway bridges near Antonivka.

Humanitarian + general:
On the night of November 9, the enemy launched 69 UAV attacks, around 50 of which were Shahed drones. According to the Air Forces, 34 of them were suppressed or shot down. Impacts of 32 strike UAVs were recorded at 9 locations, and debris fell at one location. As of Sunday morning, the attack continued.
At around 12:45 on Sunday, November 9, the Russian Armed Forces shelled the Korabelnyi district of Kherson, injuring at least two people — a 74-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man — with mine-explosive injuries; they were hospitalized.
The enemy continues to attack civilian infrastructure in Sumy Oblast. Both border communities and areas far from the border were under Russian strikes. In the Velykopysarivka community, a 45-year-old woman was injured as a result of a strike by an enemy drone.
Russian forces in Kherson attacked an 87-year-old local woman with a drone, causing mine-explosive injuries. In the Dniprovskiy district of Kherson, Russian forces struck a 64-year-old local man with a UAV; he sustained leg injuries and mine-explosive trauma.
In Chernihiv Oblast, Russian drones struck one of the biomass thermal power plants “Clear Energy,” causing significant damage, according to its co-founder Andriy Hrynenko.
Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk reported that on the night of November 8, Russia carried out one of the largest direct ballistic missile attacks on energy facilities, but by the evening, the system had already been stabilized.
Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga stated that during the massive attack on the night of November 8, Russia struck substations supplying electricity to the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants, calling for an urgent convening of the IAEA Board of Governors.
Russia has changed its tactics for attacking the energy sector, now attempting to strike both generation and electricity distribution networks simultaneously, said First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov. In most regions of the country after the November 8 attack, hourly power outages and power limitation schedules for industry and business are being applied. The most difficult situation remains in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava Oblasts, where up to three rounds of hourly outages operate simultaneously.
The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was connected to the second backup external power line after repairs carried out during the temporary truce. The line had not worked since May 7, 2025, and was connected on Saturday at 19:43. This is the second line repaired recently. Slightly more than two weeks ago, on October 23, the main 750 kV Dniprovska line was restored. Prior to that, for a month, the plant was in an extremely dangerous state, relying solely on emergency diesel generators to power the reactor cooling systems and spent fuel storage.
Mandatory evacuation of children along with parents or legal guardians has been approved from certain settlements in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts. The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine did not provide a list of settlements subject to compulsory evacuation.
