In the operational zone of the Ukrainian Operational Group of Forces (OTG) "Kharkiv" on the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy assault operations near Vovchansk and Tykhe.
In the "Khortytsia" Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, there were 5 attempts by Russian forces to advance near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, and towards Novoosynove. On the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 12 attacks near Novoserhiivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Torske, and in the Serebriansk Forest area. On the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy assaults near Spirne, Verkhnyokamianske, and Pereyizne. On the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 7 times near Chasiv Yar and conducted 2 airstrikes using unguided rockets. On the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched 11 attacks in the areas of Pivnichne, New York, Zalizne, and Toretsk, carried out 19 airstrikes, and deployed over 30 guided aerial bombs.
In the "Tavriya" OSG operational zone, on the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 28 enemy assaults in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zhelanne, Karlivka, and Hrodivka, where, with air support, Russian forces attempted to dislodge Ukrainian Defense Forces from their positions. On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks near Krasnohorivka, Kostyantynivka, and Paraskoviivka. On the Vremivka direction, Russian forces made two attempts to advance from the direction of Volodymyrivka. On the Orikhiv direction, there was 1 engagement near Robotyne. On the Prydniprovskiy direction, all 4 enemy attacks were unsuccessful.
General conclusion:
The Ukrainian Defense Forces' command has successfully achieved operational surprise on the Sumy direction. A noticeable delay in decision-making by the command of the enemy's "Severn (North)" Operational Grouping indicates a misjudgment of the likely nature of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' actions.
The pace of the advance by the forward units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk Oblast significantly outpaces the enemy's progress on the Kharkiv direction. The territory they have taken under control in just two days far exceeds the gains the enemy has made in two months.
Given the scale and intensity of the Ukrainian operation, the enemy will likely be forced to redeploy troops not only from the Kharkiv direction but also from other operational directions, including part of the strategic reserves it has been accumulating for August-September, to Kursk Oblast.
As a result of the fighting in Kursk Oblast, around 100 conscript soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces have been killed or wounded.
Russian forces are increasing artillery shelling in the Vovchansk area and are employing heavy flamethrower systems, specifically the TOS-1A.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces use motorcycles to approach Ukrainian positions, followed by assaults by infantry groups ranging from 5 to 10 soldiers, and in some cases up to 100 soldiers, thereby minimizing losses of armored vehicles. The enemy also hides among and beneath the bodies of the dead on the battlefield to conceal their movements.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 96 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Sumy direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces units advanced to positions along the 38K-030 highway from Sudzha to Korenevo, 10 km from the international border. They broke through at least two enemy defensive lines, capturing 45 km² of territory in Kursk Oblast and taking control of 11 villages, including Mykolaevo-Daryino, Daryino, Sverdlikovo, and are operating within the vicinity of Lyubimovka. They have reached the outskirts of Korenevo, seized the Sudzha checkpoint and the Sudzha gas distribution station, captured over 40 Russian prisoners of war, and cut off the important enemy supply route Rylsk-Korenevo-Sudzha in the section between Zelenyi Shlyakh and Sverdlikovo.
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue advancing in the general direction of Lyubimovka-Korenevo, north of Honcharivka near Sudzha, and towards the Melovoe tract.
On the Kharkiv direction, local positional battles continued without changes to the frontline. Ukrainian Defense Forces are deploying reserves and conducting counterattacks near Hlyboke and within Vovchansk. Battles persisted near Lyptsi, Vovchansk, and Tykhe.
Russian forces are clearing buildings in the high-rise area of Vovchansk and advanced 100 meters in the southern part of the town.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces conducted offensive operations near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, Kolisnykivka, and Hlushkivka.
On the Lyman direction, fighting continued near Nevske, Makiivka, Terny, Torske, and in the Serebriansk Forest area.
On the Siversk Direction, Russian forces advanced north of Bilohorivka and northwest of Rozdolivka. Battles continued near Verkhnyokamianske, Ivano-Dariivka, Spirne, Vyimka, and Pereyizne.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces recaptured several positions near Chasiv Yar and advanced across the Siversky Donets-Donbas canal in the Stupky-Holubovske-2 forest. Battles continued in the "Novyi" and "Zhovtnevyi" neighborhhods, in the Orlovo forest, and near Ivanivske.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces advanced in New York, capturing almost the entire town and potentially surrounding Ukrainian forces there. Fighting continued near Pivnichne and Panteleimonivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces advanced near Zhelanne and conducted offensives in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Ivanivka, Kalynove, Vesele, Yasnobrodivka, Zhelanne, Novozhelanne, Skuchne, Mezhove, and Karlivka.
On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces advanced in the eastern part of Kostyantynivka. Battles continued near Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostyantynivka, Vodyane, and Volodymyrivka.
On the Vremivka direction, Russian forces made slight progress south of Velyka Novosilka.
On the Orikhiv direction, positional battles continued near Robotyne and Verbove, but the frontline remained unchanged.
On the Prydniprovskiy direction, Russian forces continued local attacks on the eastern bank of Kherson Oblast but made no progress. Units of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine conducted a raid on the Tendrivska Spit, destroying enemy armored vehicles and electronic warfare systems.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Black Sea: 2 ships, including 2 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 2 ships, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 16 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
Units of the 4th Volunteer Assault Brigade, the "Storm" detachment of the 153rd Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army, and the 138th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 6th Combined Arms Army operate in Vovchansk.
The enemy command has begun relocating part of its forces from the Vovchansk direction (from the "Belgorod" grouping) to the defense zone of the "Kursk" grouping. It is expected that certain units of the 18th Motorized Rifle Division of the 11th Army Corps and the 128th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 44th Army Corps will arrive.
Possible operation situation developments:
On the Kupyansk direction, in the operational zone of the 1st Tank Army, command of the enemy's "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping will attempt to reach the Oskil River in the Hlushkivka – Zahryzove sector, the Petropavlivka – Kurylivka line, and storm Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction. To bind the “Khortytsia" OSG forces, the enemy will exert frontal pressure on their positions in the Stepova Novoselivka area.
In the near future, "Tavriya" OSG units will be forced to retreat westward beyond the Vovcha River under simultaneous pressure from the enemy's 27th Motorized Rifle Division, 90th Tank Division, and 114th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. There is a high probability of an enemy breakthrough between Mezhove and Skuchne in the general direction of Komyshivka.
The command of the enemy's 150th Motorized Rifle Division and 110th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade is preparing to continue the offensive along the Krasnohorivka – Hostre railway in the near future, provided the situation stabilizes in the area of Pobieda village.
