Operational situation
In the operational zone of the Ukrainian Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) "Khortytsia" on the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 Russian attacks in the area of Terny, where the enemy tried to breach Ukrainian defenses. On the Bakhmut direction, they repelled over 16 Russian attacks in the areas of Andriivka, Zelenopillia, Klishchiivka, Novy, Spirne, Ivanivske, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, attempted to improve their tactical position.
In the "Tavriya" OSG operational zone on the Avdiivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 22 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Umanske, Nevelske Pervomaiske, Yasnobrodivka, Semenivka, where the enemy tried to dislodge Ukrainian Defense Forces from their positions. On the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, where the adversary, supported by aviation, attempted to breach Ukrainian troops' defenses over 20 times. On the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried one unsuccessful attack on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of Staromayorske.
In the operational zone of the "Odesa" OSG on the Kherson direction, the enemy remains determined to dislodge the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro and unsuccessfully attacked their positions 16 times.
A UAV strike hit the Engels-2 airbase, where the 184th Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division is based. Preliminary reports indicate that 3 Tu-95MS strategic bombers and seven members of their crews were hit.
General conclusion:
On the Lyman direction, the enemy paused to regroup troops and build up its forces.
Russian forces might seek to avoid crossing the Siversky Donets - Donbas Canal by advancing to the 750-meter section north of Chasiv Yar near Kalynivka, where the canal runs underground.
Russian forces will not be able to capture Chasiv Yar without first taking control over Bohdanivka and Ivanivske.
Russian units encounter challenges in holding their positions in Semenivka and Berdychi due to the dominance of Ukrainian Defense Forces UAVs in the air.

On the Kupyansk direction, on the direction from Dzherelne to Andriivka, the 423rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 4th Tank Division of the enemy’s 1st Tank Army unsuccessfully attempted to advance towards Borova.
On the Lyman direction, attacks by the 488th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the enemy’s 144th Motorized Rifle Division east of Terny continue. However, the division command requires additional forces and a change in tactics to continue its attempts to capture Terny and Yampolivka.
On the Bakhmut direction, the 2nd Army Corps and the 106th Airborne Division attempt to reach the Siversk-Zvanivka line, including:
The 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade is attacking in the direction of Bilohorivka (upper) - Hryhorivka and attempting to displace the forward units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from Bilohorivka. They have partial success east and southeast of the village.
The 123rd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, reinforced by units of the 106th Airborne Division, is attempting to break through to Vyimka. They are progressing slowly in this direction and unsuccessfully attempting to advance along the railroad to Siversk and break through Spine.
The 6th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade attacked the Ukrainian Defense Forces units in the direction of Zolotarivka - Verkhnyokamianske, taking control over part of the territory north of the Zolotarivka - Verkhnyokamianske road.
Units of the enemy's 106th Airborne Division, supported by armored vehicles, attacked and advanced up to 2 km deep near Vesele.
Russian forces moved south in the area of the Stupky-Holubivski-2 reserve and reached the line near the eastern outskirts of Chasiv Yar (Novyi microdistrict). Units of the 11th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade are approaching Chasiv Yar from the south.
Enemy forces unsuccessfully attacked in the areas of Ivanivske, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, and Zelenopillia.
Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully conducted a counterattack in Chasiv Yar and pushed the enemy out of the town, pushing them back to a line 700 meters away from the outskirts.
On the Avdiivka direction, Russian forces advanced in the southern part of Semenivka, attacking with a group of up to a reinforced platoon, and advanced near Berdychi.
Positional battles continued in the areas of Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, and Pervomaiske.
On the Novopavlivka direction, positional battles continued in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, and Kostiantynivka.
On the Berdyansk direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked near Velyka Novosilka and Urozhaine. Near Staromayorske, the 60th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 5th Army attacked unsuccessfully and the 38th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Army attacked without success in the Polohy direction.
An airstrike hit the Morozovsk airbase, where the 559th Bomber Aviation Regiment, which launches precision-guided glide bombs on the Zaporizhzhia direction is based. According to preliminary estimates, the adversary lost 6 Su-34 bombers, and 8 more were damaged.
A UAV strike hit the Yeysk airbase, where the 190th Training Mixed Aviation Regiment of the Russian Navy is based. It is known that two Su-25 attack aircraft were destroyed and a hangar with a group of specialists from the Gromov Flight Research Institute was hit.
On the Orikhiv direction, positional battles were ongoing northwest of Verbove.
On the Kherson direction, positional battles were ongoing near Krynky.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consisted of:
Black Sea: 1 “Kalibr” sea launched cruise missile carrier. The total salvo is 4 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 1 “Kalibr” sea launched cruise missile carrier. The total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 272nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 47th Tank Division (1st Tank Army) is regrouping in the advance line of the 138th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade (6th Army). Its units have already been detected in the Tavilzhanka and Lyman Pershyi areas.
The adversary has replaced several units of the 18th Motorized Rifle Division of the 11th Army Corps of the Russian Baltic Fleet with units of the 47th Tank Division in the Pershotravneve area. Additionally, the 744th Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of the 47th Tank Division is also concentrating in this area. The adversary's command is deploying the 47th Tank Division on the Verkhnya Duvanka - Poltava line (Luhansk Oblast).

Possible operation situation developments:
The likely operational-strategic objectives of the Russian troop grouping in the theater of military operations could include the seizure of the Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts within their administrative borders.
In the near future, the enemy will resume active offensive operations on the Kupyansk direction, particularly in the area of Synkivka and along the Kupyansk-Svatove road.
The enemy command will endeavor to cut off the Nevske-Torske road along the left bank of the Chornyi Zherebets River from north to south in the area of Terny and will attempt to eliminate the southern part of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ foothold on the Chornyi Zherebets River.
The forces of the 20th and 25th Army are unable to complete the forming operation on the Lyman direction and will not be able to secure an advantageous starting position for the offensive on Lyman and the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration before the onset of summer.
The command of the enemy's “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping, 2nd Army Corps, and 106th Airborne Division will make efforts to eliminate the Siversk salient and set conditions for the encirclement of the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration from the southeast.

Humanitarian+general:
According to information provided by the Situation Center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Russian forces shelled 10 regions of Ukraine over the past day. A total of 71 towns and villages and 96 infrastructure objects were attacked with various types of weapons. The number of casualties is being updated/clarified.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, over 13,000 children have acquired the status of orphan or child deprived of parental care. These are children who have lost their parents through various means, including captivity or detention in Russian prisons.
On the night of April 6, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 32 Shahed-type strike UAVs and six missiles of various types. The air defense system shot down two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, a "Kalibr” cruise missile, and 28 "Shahed-131/136" strike UAVs.
Kharkiv is under heavy Russian attacks. An attack that occurred around 00:20, killed seven civilians, and injured at least ten others. At least 8 of them were hospitalized. Russian forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv again on Saturday afternoon, resulting in one fatality and three injuries.
During the night of April 5-6, the enemy targeted an agro-industrial enterprise in Kherson Oblast. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire, and no casualties were reported. Before dawn, Russian forces launched missile strikes on Zaporizhzhya, causing damage to the region's industrial facilities.
As of Saturday morning, at least 23 civilians have been reported injured, including two children and a police officer, as a result of the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia on April 5th. Four people are reported killed.
Russian forces launched a ballistic missile, presumably an "Iskander-M," on Saturday afternoon targeting the Odesa district. The strike hit a municipal facility, causing damage to equipment and administrative buildings. A municipal worker was killed in the attack.
