In the operational zone of the Ukrainian Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) "Khortytsia" on the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 Russian attacks in the area of Terny, where the enemy tried to breach Ukrainian defenses. On the Bakhmut direction, they repelled over 16 Russian attacks in the areas of Andriivka, Zelenopillia, Klishchiivka, Novy, Spirne, Ivanivske, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, attempted to improve their tactical position.
In the "Tavriya" OSG operational zone on the Avdiivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 22 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Umanske, Nevelske Pervomaiske, Yasnobrodivka, Semenivka, where the enemy tried to dislodge Ukrainian Defense Forces from their positions. On the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, where the adversary, supported by aviation, attempted to breach Ukrainian troops' defenses over 20 times. In the operational zone of the "Odesa" OSG on the Kherson direction, the enemy remains determined to dislodge the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro and unsuccessfully attacked their positions 16 times.
A UAV strike hit the Engels-2 airbase, where the 184th Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division is based. Preliminary reports indicate that 3 Tu-95MS strategic bombers and seven members of their crews were hit.

The enemy command will endeavor to cut off the Nevske-Torske road along the left bank of the Chornyi Zherebets River from north to south in the area of Terny and will attempt to eliminate the southern part of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ foothold on the Chornyi Zherebets River.

According to information provided by the Situation Center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Russian forces shelled 10 regions of Ukraine over the past day. A total of 71 towns and villages and 96 infrastructure objects were attacked with various types of weapons. The number of casualties is being updated/clarified.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, over 13,000 children have acquired the status of orphan or child deprived of parental care. These are children who have lost their parents through various means, including captivity or detention in Russian prisons.
On the night of April 6, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 32 Shahed-type strike UAVs and six missiles of various types. The air defense system shot down two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, a "Kalibr” cruise missile, and 28 "Shahed-131/136" strike UAVs.

As of Saturday morning, at least 23 civilians have been reported injured, including two children and a police officer, as a result of the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia on April 5th. Four people are reported killed.
Russian forces launched a ballistic missile, presumably an "Iskander-M," on Saturday afternoon targeting the Odesa district. The strike hit a municipal facility, causing damage to equipment and administrative buildings. A municipal worker was killed in the attack.
