Operational situation
On the Kursk direction, Russian forces are engaged in battles for Kurylivka, Loknia, Okhochiy, and Novenke, attempting to advance east of Novaya Sorochina and west of Kurilovka.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces fought near the "Nekhoteyevka" border crossing east of Kozacha Lopan and near Vovchansk.
On the Kupyansk direction, intense counter-battles take place along the entire perimeter of the enemy's bridgehead in the Dvorichna and Novomlynsk area. Ukrainian Defense Forces are pushing the enemy out of Zapadne and partially beyond the Kupyansk-Dvorichna road. The enemy is attempting to break out southward from the bridgehead, attacking toward Kindrashivka to cut off the "Khortytsia" OSG’s logistics between Kupyansk and Velykyi Burluk, take full control of Dvorichna, and advance north of Fiholivka and Novomlynsk. The occupiers carried out offensive actions toward Krasne Pershe, Kamyanka, Bohuslavka, Zahryzove, and near Holubivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Nadiya, and Hrekivka, making several unsuccessful attempts to cross to the western bank of the Oskil River.
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces are expanding their bridgehead on the right bank of the Zherebets River in Ivanivka, attempting to advance north of Kolodyazi and toward the dam northwest of Ivanivka. They advanced southeast and northeast of Torske and conducted offensive operations in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Novyi, Novolyubivka, Yampolivka, Dibrova, and the Serebriansk Forest.
On the Siversk direction, Russian forces conducted offensive operations near Bilohorivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces launched attacks near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Oleksandro-Shultyne.
On the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced along Promeneva Street in the southwest of Toretsk.
Russian forces attacked in Toretsk, near Dachne, Dyliivka, and Druzhba.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced on the eastern outskirts of Shevchenkove, within the boundaries of Uspenivka, and on the right bank of the Solona River on the western outskirts of Novoserhiyivka. Russian forces attempted to advance northeast and east of Kotlyne and in the northeastern part of Pishchane, continuing their offensive near Malynivka, Bohdanivka, Zelenyi Hai, Vodyane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Udachne, Orikhove, and toward Serhiivka.
On the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces continued attacks near Andriivka, Konstyantynopil, Oleksiivka, and Rozdolne.
On the Huliaypole direction, the 394th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Combined Arms Army is engaged in battles for Pryvilne. Russian forces continued attacks near Burlatske, Skudne, and Vilne Pole.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Pryvilne.
On the Orikhiv direction, the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army is attempting to advance northeast of Robotyne. Russian forces conducted offensive actions near Novodanylivka, Nesteryanka, and Kamianske.
General conclusion:
The United States has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine in accordance with Russia’s demands for initiating peace negotiations. The restrictions affect early warning systems for aircraft takeoffs, long-range missile and UAV launches, targeting data for M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems and HIMARS (GMLRS), as well as targeting data for strikes deep into Russia. Additionally, the dissemination of intelligence provided by the United Kingdom’s intelligence agencies has been prohibited.
The enemy is attempting to link separate Russian bridgeheads near Topoli and Dvorichna, deploying reserves and intensifying strikes on Zahryzove to advance its offensive against the southern flank of the Ukrainian grouping near Kupiansk.
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces experience difficulties in supplying frontline positions with food and water.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces have reduced the pace of their offensive from 40-60 assaults per day to 18-20. Ukrainian Defense Forces’ FPV drones hit up to 85% of Russian targets, compared to only about 50% in the summer of 2024.
On the Huliaypole direction, Russian forces concentrate efforts toward Skudne and Burlatske. The Russian military command has redeployed units from three brigades and one motorized rifle regiment to this area.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
There were 96 combat engagements on various fronts.
On the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked twice toward Petro-Ivanivka and in the Vovchansk area.
On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance three times near Holubivka and Zahryzove.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy launched ten attacks near Novomykhailivka and Nove.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled eight enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Predtechyne.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy conducted 19 offensive actions near Toretsk, Dachne, and Dyliivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted to breach defenses 16 times in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Bohdanivka, Kotlyarivka, and Andriivka. The occupiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Pokrovsk, Chunyshyne, and Oleksiivka.
On the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled six attacks by the occupying army near Konstyantynopil and Burlatske.
On the Huliaypole direction, the enemy attacked near Vilne Pole and conducted airstrikes on Huliaypole, Shevchenko, Zaliznychne, Novopil, Odradne, and Vesele.
On the Orikhiv Direction, four enemy attacks were repelled near Kamianske, Pavlivka, and Lobkove. The areas of Pyatykhatky suffered airstrikes.
On the Kursk direction, 27 combat engagements took place. The enemy conducted 16 airstrikes.
In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
Black Sea: 2 ships, including 2 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
Mediterranean Sea: 4 ships, including 3 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 26 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
The 103rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Combined Arms Army operates in the Toretsk-Shcherbynivka area, while the 238th Artillery Brigade of the 8th Combined Arms Army is engaged near Dachne.
Possible operation situation developments:
The plan for the enemy's spring-summer offensive campaign in the Southwestern Theater of Operations may be as follows: a simultaneous breakthrough towards Kostyantynivka and Druzhkivka from the south and southeast (from the direction of Toretsk and Vozdvyzhenka), as well as from the northeast (from the direction of Chasiv Yar), followed by an advance towards Kramatorsk from the south while simultaneously advancing towards Slovyansk with the forces of the 20th and 25th Combined Arms Armies of the "Zapad (West)" Operational Grouping through Lyman;
In preparation for the capture of Kupyansk, the enemy needs to expand the area of access to the Oskil River. To achieve this, in the near future, it will intensify operations not only along the river but also on the flanks of its sector by introducing the 15th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division, part of the forces of the 47th Tank Division, and the 27th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 1st Tank Army into the operation.
Once the enemy sufficiently expands its bridgeheads on the Chornyi Zherebets River, the 25th Army, with forces of the 67th Motorized Rifle Division and the 164th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, will sharply intensify actions toward Torske and Yampolivka. This will mark the second stage of pushing "Khortytsia" OSG out of the bridgehead east of the Chornyi Zherebets River on the Lyman direction.
The operational plan of the 8th Combined Arms Army on the Kostyantynivka direction is to envelop the tactical group of the "Khortytsia" OSG, which is defending south of Kostyantynivka between Oleksandropil and Tarasivka from the flanks. The enemy aims to encircle and destroy this group or, if unable to do so, force it to withdraw from the area south of Kostyantynivka in a northwestern direction under the threat of encirclement. The ultimate goal of these actions is a two-pronged breakthrough from the southwest and southeast toward the area of Stepanivka – Berestok – Pleshchiivka – Yablunivka, followed by a simultaneous assault on Kostyantynivka from this area and from the direction of Chasiv Yar. After the reaching the Poltavka–Pleshchiivka line, the enemy’s 3rd Combined Arms Army, reinforced by an airborne forces group, will attempt a rapid breakthrough from the bridgehead on the Siverskyi Donets–Donbas canal in the Chasiv Yar area, advancing from the northeast toward Kostyantynivka.
The command of the enemy’s "Vostok (East)" Operational Grouping will attempt to organize a breakthrough toward Komar on the Huliaypole direction in the near future and advance into the operational rear of "Khortytsia" OSG which is engaged in heavy defensive battles on the Novopavlivka direction.

Humanitarian + general:
Starting in the evening of March 5, Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 112 Shahed-type strike UAVs, along with decoy drones; 68 drones were shot down, while another 43 were lost from radar tracking.
On the evening of March 5, the Russian army launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblat. A Russian missile hit a five-story hotel, causing a fire. As of the evening of March 6, the death toll had risen to five. A total of 32 people were injured, 22 of whom remain hospitalized, including 10 in intensive care.
Overnight, one person was killed in a Russian drone attack on Sumy. According to city authorities, an enemy drone struck a warehouse facility, igniting a fire.
Around 03:50, the enemy attacked Kharkiv with strike UAVs. As a result of the attack, a residential apartment building and a vehicle were damaged, and one person was injured.
During the night of March 6, Russian forces attacked Odesa Oblast, striking an energy facility, damaging a residential building and an administrative building, and injuring two people. This marks the fifth DTEK energy facility damaged in the past two weeks.
On March 6, 2025, at approximately 12:40, in the city of Beryslav, Kherson Oblast, Russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone, killing two people.
In Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, two civilians were injured in a Russian airstrike.
In Huliaypole, a 66-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone attack. The enemy struck with an FPV drone while the man was working in his yard in Huliaypole.
As part of Ukrainian President's "Bring Kids Back UA" initiative, seven more Ukrainian children have been returned from occupation.
The English-speaking segment of the social media platform X is experiencing a surge in disinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting mobilization in Ukraine, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
