Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the 153rd Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army that attempted to penetrate into Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.

On the Pokrovsk Direction, Russian forces mainly conduct assault actions with armored vehicle support, primarily near Hryshyne. Dense fog and limited visibility hinder the use of UAVs, which facilitates enemy infiltration groups advancing toward their areas, while at the same time facilitating the operation of Ukrainian Defense Forces logistics.

On the Kupyansk Direction, six enemy attacks occurred. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy assault actions near Zahryzove and toward Kurylivka, Pishchane, Kupyansk.
On the Sloviansk Direction, 20 enemy attempts to advance were repelled in the directions of Novoserhiyivka, Serednie, Drobysheve, Dibrova, near Dronivka, Platonivka, Sviato-Pokrovske, toward Zakitne and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kostyantynivka Direction, the enemy carried out 12 attacks near Pryvillya, Kostyantynivka, Kleban-Byk, Shcherbynivka, Stepanivka, Ivanopillya, Yablunivka, Sofiivka.

The enemy “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping will continue to operate simultaneously along the Northern Slobozhansky Direction, the Southern Slobozhansky Direction, and the Velykyi Burluk Direction and will attempt to seize as large an area as possible in Sumy Oblast and Kharkiv Oblast with the aim of subsequent political bargaining for their exchange for territories in Donetsk Oblast that the enemy will be unable to seize.
On the Southern Slobozhansky Direction, in the Vovchansk area, the enemy “Belgorod–Kharkov” Tactical Group will continue attempts to break through along the eastern bank of the Siverskyi Donets in the southern direction and advance as far as possible in the Vovchansk–Bilyi Kolodyaz direction. Attempting to advance in the general Vovchansk–Staryi Saltiv direction, the Tactical Group command will try to secure the right flank of its main forces, which will advance toward Bilyi Kolodyaz
In the Kupyansk area, Russian forces will intensify operations along the Pishchane–Kurylivka line and further toward Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi, as well as along the Kolisnykivka–Hlushkivka line and further toward Kivsharivka and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. The headquarters of the 1st Tank Army and the 6th Combined Arms Army will attempt to achieve the required tactical troop density through regrouping within their respective armies. To implement this concept, the enemy will have to commit part of its strategic reserves in this Direction (several brigades or 1–2 divisions from among the recently formed units), or it will be forced to halt offensive operations in the Velykyi Burluk, Lyman, and Vovchansk Directions. The enemy’s “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping will concentrate its efforts on seizing the eastern part of Kupyansk, attacking from the north, will attempt to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ 16th Army Corps south of the Kucherivka–Petropavlivka line, advancing toward Petropavlivka along the road from Vilshana and attacking the northeastern part of the city from the direction of Lyman Pershyi. To restore the situation in the Kupyansk area, the enemy will intensify actions within the offensive zone of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army, which conducts a frontal advance on Kupyansk from the east. Attempts by the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army to eliminate the bridgehead of the 16th Army Corps of the Defense Forces on the Oskil east of Kupyansk will continue. The 6th Combined Arms Army of the enemy “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping will advance simultaneously on three directions: toward Staryi Saltiv, Velykyi Burluk, and in the Kupyansk area. The army’s troops will attempt to advance from the Dvorichanske bridgehead in the Krasne Pershe–Novovasylivka and Dvorichna–Ridkodub directions, attack in the Milove–Ambarne direction with the aim of capturing the latter, and will try to outflank from the north and south the defensive strongpoint of the 16th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kolodyazne area.
On the Sloviansk Direction, the enemy’s 20th Combined Arms Army will attempt to seize the Yarova–Novoselivka–Drobysheve–Pryshyb area and block the Lyman–Izium logistics route along the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River. Troops of the 20th and 25th Combined Arms Armies will advance north and east of Lyman with the aim of isolating the defense area of the 3rd Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces around the city from the north and northwest in order to reach the Siverskyi Donets River south of the city in the Raihorodok–Zakytne sector. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will attempt to break through to the Zakytne–Riznykivka–Kalenyky–Kryva Luka area, which will facilitate an offensive on Lyman by the troops of the 25th Combined Arms Army. Ukrainian Defense Forces will seek opportunities to slow the enemy’s advance along the southern bank of the Siverskyi Donets in the direction of Raihorodok and Sloviansk
On the Kostyantynivka Direction, the enemy “Yug (South)” and “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Groupings operating with two Tactical Groups, “Bakhmut” and “Dzerzhynsk,” will attempt to defeat the forces of the 9th and 10th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces, seize the Kostyantynivka–Druzhkivka agglomeration, and reach the near approaches to Kramatorsk from the south and southeast. Tactical Group “Dzerzhynsk,” advancing in the Yablunivka–Stepanivka, Oleksandro-Kalynove–Berestok, and Pleshchiivka–Berestok Directions, will attempt to break through to the Stepanivka–Berestok line and subsequently to the Dovha Balka–Illinivka line, and will attempt to seize the entire western part of Kostyantynivka along the western bank of the Kryvyi Torets River. Tactical Group “Bakhmut,” advancing in the Oleksandro-Shultyne–Kostyantynivka and Predtechyne–Kostyantynivka Directions, will attempt to break through to the eastern part of the city and will attempt to reach the Izhevka–Virolyubivka line along the eastern bank of the Kryvyi Torets River. On the Oleksandrivka and Huliaypole Directions, the enemy’s “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping will advance on the widest possible front, attempting to maximally stretch the forces of Ukrainian Defense Forces and their reserves, attempting to maximally stretch the Defense Forces and their reserves, and through active offensive actions by the 36th Combined Arms Army will attempt to ensure, on the main strike Direction toward Huliaypole, the maximum concentration of its own forces and assets in the zone of the 5th Combined Arms Army, which will advance in the general direction of Varvarivka – Verkhnya Tersa – Omelnyk. The enemy 35th Combined Arms Army will attempt to break through with its main forces to the near approaches to Orikhiv, after which it will assault the city. The enemy 58th Combined Arms Army will advance northward along the Dnipro River, will attempt to reach the defensive line of the 17th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces along the Konka River on the Malokaterynivka – Komyshuvakha section, and will attempt to cut its logistics in Orikhiv.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the command of the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue trying to take control of most of the island zone in the Dnipro delta in the direction of Kherson, will try to create a tactical bridgehead on the right bank, and to eliminate the tactical bridgeheads of the 30th Marine Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of the automobile and railway bridges near Antonivka.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from the evening of February 1 Russian forces attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 171 UAVs of various types, including about 100 Shahed-type drones, with the rest being Gerbera and other systems. As of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 157 UAVs; however, impacts of the missile and 12 strike UAVs were recorded at eight locations. At 09:00 the enemy attack was still ongoing, with several Russian UAVs remaining in the airspace.
According to Cherkasy Oblast Military Administration Head Ihor Taburets, on the night of February 2 Russian forces carried out a massive strike against Cherkasy Oblast. As a result of UAV debris falling at a number of locations, including the Oblast center, fires broke out. According to preliminary data, at least four people were injured.
According to the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, as a result of Russian shelling of the Dniprovskyi District of Kherson that occurred at midnight on February 2, two people sustained injuries.

According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, on February 2 Russian occupiers struck a market in the Slobidskyi District of Kharkiv. At present, two injured persons are known, while information on the scale of destruction and the number of casualties continues to be уточнюється.
Russia attacked a DTEK coal enterprise in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast twice within one day. As a result of the attack, administrative buildings of the enterprise were damaged.
At around 13:00 Russian forces attacked a garbage truck with a UAV in the Verkhniosyrovatka community of Sumy Oblast, resulting in three men being wounded. In the Velyka Pysarivka community, due to a UAV attack on a passenger car, a 51-year-old woman was hospitalized. In addition, a missile strike was recorded against the Krasnopillia community, where destruction occurred but, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
During the day on February 2, Russian forces carried out a drone strike against Zaporizhzhia District, as a result of which a house was destroyed. One person was killed and another was wounded.
Throughout the day, Russian forces almost continuously attacked the city of Zaporizhzhia with UAVs. Impacts were recorded in residential areas. Destruction and damage were recorded in three districts of Zaporizhzhia.
According to the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, on February 2 Russian forces attacked three districts of the Oblast using artillery, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs, as a result of which a 67-year-old man was killed in the Synelnykove District and two more people were injured in the Nikopol area. UAV strikes also targeted the Zelenodolsk community of Kryvyi Rih District, where a fire in a building and damage to civilian infrastructure and vehicles were recorded.
According to the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, at 23:30 on February 1 Russian forces dropped a FAB-250 aerial bomb with a UMPK module on a private house in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka. As a result of a direct hit on the home where a family was present, two civilians were killed and three more people, including two minors, were hospitalized with injuries. The residential building was completely destroyed.
According to Mayor Vitalii Klitschko, restoration work continues in Kyiv in about 80 buildings that remain without heating following a large-scale accident in the energy system that occurred last Saturday. In total, 3,419 apartment buildings were left without heat at that time, but most have already been reconnected. Currently, the main focus is on eliminating local failures in buildings caused by low temperatures and power supply disruptions.
According to the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology on January 23–29:
52% of Ukrainians consider categorically unacceptable the transfer of all of Donbas under Russian control in exchange for security guarantees, while 40% of respondents are ready for such a concession and 7% are undecided. Despite mass shelling and energy supply problems in the second half of January, support for this condition did not increase. The regional breakdown shows the highest opposition to ceding territory in Kyiv at 59% and in the west of the country at 57%, while in central, northern, and southern Oblasts this figure is 49%, and in the east it is 50%.
90% of Ukrainians support carrying out strikes on the territory of Russia. Compared to February 2023, the share of supporters of attacks exclusively on military targets decreased from 38% to 10%, while 80% of respondents now consider it necessary to strike other targets as well. In particular, 48% support strikes against military, oil and gas, and energy infrastructure, 7% support strikes only against military and oil and gas targets, and 25% favor strikes against the population of Russia, which is twice the level of three years ago.
Only 20% of Ukrainians expect the war to end by mid-2026, indicating a gradual decline in optimism compared to surveys conducted in September 2025 at 33% and December 2025 at 26%. 18% of respondents predict the end of the conflict in the second half of 2026, while 43% believe the war will last until 2027 or longer.
Despite the changed expectations regarding timelines, 65% of respondents are ready to endure the war for as long as necessary to achieve an acceptable outcome. This figure remains stable compared to previous months of 2025 at 62%. Regional analysis confirms the resilience of attitudes, with readiness for prolonged resistance expressed by 58% in the east up to 72% in Kyiv. Only 17% of respondents expect a short period of hostilities lasting up to six months.
