The 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Combined Arms Army strikes Ukrainian forces in the north of Udachne.
Possible operation situation developments:
According to the assessment of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the enemy will not be able to achieve the goal of the so-called special military operation to capture the entire Donetsk Oblast by the end of 2025. Provided current dynamics of combat operations are maintained, the enemy will be able to capture Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Kupyansk no earlier than the end of the year and reach the close approaches to Zaporizhzhia and the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration by early winter.
The command of the enemy’s “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping, in cooperation with the right flank of the “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping, will expand its bridgehead northeast of Velykyi Burluk in the Southern Slobozhansky direction and will try to capture Khatnie.
On the Kupyansk direction, the forward units of the 6th Combined Arms Army will try to bypass Kupyansk as deeply as possible, primarily from the west and northwest in the direction of Radkivka – Myrne, in the general direction of the Chuhuiv – Kupyansk highway, and take control of the Mala Shapkivka – Velyka Shapkivka – Kindrashivka – Tyshchenkivka area.
The enemy will develop an offensive on Lyman from the side of Zelena Dolyna, and on Siversk. The 70th Motorized Rifle Division of the 25th Combined Arms Army will attack along the railway from Pereyizne in the general direction of Siversk. Troops of the 25th Combined Arms Army will try to cross the Siverskyi Donets River. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will regroup in the Verkhnyokamianske area and looks for weaknesses in the Ukrainian defense. The command of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping may open a new direction through Zarichne and will try to level the front line by attacking along converging directions. The concentration of the enemy on this bridgehead will give the 3rd Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces the opportunity to hold its positions and counterattack on a wide section of the front, while also blocking the enemy’s advance on Borova. The enemy will break through to the area northwest of Lyman and will try to reach the Siverskyi Donets river on the Yarova – Novoselivka – Drobysheve – Pryshyb line, which will create conditions for the capture of Lyman. In the near future, battles will begin along the Yampil – Dronivka line. Defense Forces units defending east of Dronivka will be forced to withdraw from both banks of the Siverskyi Donets.
Russian troops will try to cut off the H20 Kostyantynivka – Sloviansk highway. For this purpose, they will attack in the directions of Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka and Druzhkivka, complicating the logistics of the 19th Combined Arms Corps of the Defense Forces in Kostyantynivka, thereby contributing to the capture of the “fortress belt.” The enemy command prepares an offensive on Kostyantynivka and Druzhkivka, which involves delivering concentric strikes simultaneously from the northeast, from the direction of Chasiv Yar, from the southeast, from the direction of Toretsk and the Kleban-Byk reservoir, and from the southwest, from the Poltavka – Novoolenivka line.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the potential remains for encirclement of elements of the enemy’s 51st Combined Arms Army in the directions of Nykanorivka/Zapovidne–Mayak and Razyne–Novotoretske. Ukrainian Defense Forces, counterattacking along the Kazennyi Torets river from south to north and in the direction of Volodymyrivka – Novotoretske, threaten to make the encirclement even more large-scale. The enemy’s 51st Combined Arms Army will break through to the Shevchenko – Biletske – Rodynske – Hryshyne area aiming to block the defense area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Pokrovsk – Myrnohrad agglomeration from the north. Given that the enemy managed to gain a foothold in Krasnyi Lyman and advance along the tree lines south of it, the advance units of the 51st Combined Arms Army should be expected to reach the northern and northeastern outskirts of Myrnohrad in the near future.
On the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy’s “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping will be forced to stretch the front in the southern direction, striving to level the front line in the northern direction, accelerating the advance of its left flank. The 5th Combined Arms Army will advance on a wide front in the directions of Komyshuvakha – Ternove and Zaporizhzhia – Berezove, in addition, it will continue to fight for Novoivanivka and Novomykolayivka, while trying to advance north of Olhivske.
On the Orikhiv direction, the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue the local offensive operation, trying to break through along the left bank of the Dnipro River from the Plavni – Kamianske line to Stepnohirsk and from the Stepove – Mali Shcherbaky line in a northern direction.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the command of the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue trying to take control of most of the island zone in the Dnipro delta in the direction of Kherson, will try to create a tactical bridgehead on the right bank, and to eliminate the tactical bridgeheads of the 30th Marine Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of the automobile and railway bridges near Antonivka.

In Kherson, a man died this morning as a result of Russian artillery shelling.
In Chernihiv Oblast, scheduled power outages were introduced after a massive attack on energy infrastructure. A grid accident occurred due to damage to critical energy facilities, leaving about 307,000 consumers in several districts of the region without electricity. The available energy in the grid is insufficient for continuous supply to all users.
In Sumy Oblast, three people were injured as a result of Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure: two women aged 52 and 66 were wounded in Sumy district, and a drone hit a moped carrying a 55-year-old man in the Shalyhyne community, who was hospitalized with injuries.
In Slavutych, the power supply disappeared after a Russian strike on the 330 kV substation. A fire broke out in the city. Due to damage to communal infrastructure, water will be supplied on an hourly schedule, and power supply of communication systems will be maintained by backup sources. Due to the power outage in Slavutych resulting from Russian shelling, a blackout occurred at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
Russian troops launched a missile attack on Balakliia in Kharkiv Oblast on October 1. A woman died and 9 people were injured as a result. According to preliminary information, a missile hit the ground near a five-story residential building. A fire broke out in one of the apartments. A parked car is also burning.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) officially confirmed the danger of the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which remains without a main power source for the tenth day due to the occupiers’ actions. According to the agency, the station in the occupied territory currently operates exclusively on backup diesel generators, and the current fuel reserves for their operation are sufficient for 10 days. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi emphasized that such a situation is unstable from the perspective of nuclear safety, as a complete shutdown of backup systems could pose a threat of nuclear fuel meltdown.
Greenpeace published an investigation refuting the Russian Federation’s claims about alleged strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the ZNPP power lines. Experts from McKenzie Intelligence Services, having analyzed satellite images from September 26, 2025, found no traces of attacks or shelling in the area of the power line supports and grid, indicating the deliberate disconnection of the station from the Ukrainian energy system by Russia for the purpose of appropriation.
Within the framework of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative of the President of Ukraine, a group of children aged 4 to 17 was returned from the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed a strong protest in connection with the “autumn conscription” for military service, which the Russian Federation begins on October 1, including in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine—in Crimea and parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson Oblasts.
