Over the past day, the intensity of combat operations sharply increased, primarily on the Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, Huliaypole, and Sloviansk Directions.
On the Southern Slobozhansky Direction, Russian forces exploit adverse weather conditions. Ukrainian Defense Forces expand the kill zone into Belgorod Oblast by employing FPV drones with fiber-optic control in response to enemy strikes using aviation and TOS-1A systems from the area of Shebekino.
On the Sloviansk Direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces patrol the Serebriansk Forest area with FPV drones, detect and destroy infiltration groups that attempt to hide in the forest.
On the Kostyantynivka Direction, Russian forces achieve less success in the use of infiltration tactics and therefore focus on KAB glide bomb airstrikes, artillery, and UAV strikes against Ukrainian logistics in the near rear, and use UAVs to mine routes in Druzhkivka.

On the Pokrovsk Direction, 80 assault actions by the aggressor were stopped near Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Filiya, and toward Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Novopidhorodnie, Muravka, Novopavlivka, and Ivanivka.
On the Oleksandrivka Direction, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the area of Verbove and toward Oleksandrohrad, Danylivka, Vyshneve, and Nove Zaporizhzhia.
On the Huliaypole Direction, 45 attacks by the occupiers occurred in the areas of Huliaypole and Myrne, and toward Dobropillya, Varvarivka, Zaliznychne, Svyatopetrivka, Zelene, and Staroukrainka.

On the Southern Slobozhansky Direction, in the Vovchansk area, the enemy “Belgorod–Kharkov” Tactical Group will continue attempts to break through along the eastern bank of the Siverskyi Donets in the southern direction and advance as far as possible in the Vovchansk–Bilyi Kolodyaz direction. Attempting to advance in the general Vovchansk–Staryi Saltiv direction, the Tactical Group command will try to secure the right flank of its main forces, which will advance toward Bilyi Kolodyaz
The enemy “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping will continue to operate simultaneously along the Northern Slobozhansky Direction, the Southern Slobozhansky Direction, and the Velykyi Burluk Direction and will attempt to seize as large an area as possible in Sumy Oblast and Kharkiv Oblast with the aim of subsequent political bargaining for their exchange for territories in Donetsk Oblast that the enemy will be unable to seize.
The 6th Combined Arms Army of the enemy “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping will advance simultaneously on three directions: toward Staryi Saltiv, Velykyi Burluk, and in the Kupyansk area. The army’s troops will attempt to advance from the Dvorichanske bridgehead in the Krasne Pershe–Novovasylivka and Dvorichna–Ridkodub directions, attack in the Milove–Ambarne direction with the aim of capturing the latter, and will try to outflank from the north and south the defensive strongpoint of the 16th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kolodyazne area.
On the Kupyansk Direction, the enemy’s “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping will concentrate its efforts on seizing the eastern part of Kupyansk, attacking from the north, will attempt to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ 16th Army Corps south of the Kucherivka–Petropavlivka line, advancing toward Petropavlivka along the road from Vilshana and attacking the northeastern part of the city from the direction of Lyman Pershyi. To restore the situation in the Kupyansk area, the enemy intensifies actions within the offensive zone of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army, which conducts a frontal advance on Kupyansk from the east. Attempts by the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army to eliminate the bridgehead of the 16th Army Corps of the Defense Forces on the Oskil east of Kupyansk will continue.
On the Kupyansk Direction, Russian forces will not only continue their offensive but will also intensify operations along the Pishchane–Kurylivka line and further toward Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi, as well as along the Kolisnykivka–Hlushkivka line and further toward Kivsharivka and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. The headquarters of the 1st Tank Army and the 6th Combined Arms Army will attempt to achieve the required tactical troop density through regrouping within their respective armies. However, to implement this concept, the enemy will have to commit part of its strategic reserves in this Direction (several brigades or 1–2 divisions from among the recently formed units), or it will be forced to halt offensive operations in the Velykyi Burluk, Lyman, and Vovchansk Directions.
On the Sloviansk Direction, the enemy’s 20th Combined Arms Army will attempt to seize the Yarova–Novoselivka–Drobysheve–Pryshyb area and block the Lyman–Izium logistics route along the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River. Troops of the 20th and 25th Combined Arms Armies will advance north and east of Lyman with the aim of isolating the defense area of the 3rd Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces around the city from the north and northwest in order to reach the Siverskyi Donets River south of the city in the Raihorodok–Zakytne sector. By maintaining a bridgehead on the Siverskyi Donets River, the 3rd Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces will make it much more difficult for the enemy to conduct offensive actions towards Sloviansk from this direction. The 3rd Combined Arms Army will attempt to break through from the Dronivka–Siversk line to the Zakytne–Riznykivka–Kalenyky–Kryva Luka area, which will facilitate an offensive on Lyman by the troops of the 25th Combined Arms Army. Ukrainian Defense Forces will seek opportunities to slow the enemy’s advance along the southern bank of the Siverskyi Donets in the direction of Raihorodok and Sloviansk
On the Kostyantynivka Direction, the operational objective of Russian forces remains the destruction of the 9th and 10th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces, which oppose the enemy “Yug (South)” and “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Groupings, the capture of the Kostyantynivka–Druzhkivka agglomeration, and an advance from the south and southeast to the near approaches to Kramatorsk. This objective is being pursued using a sequential, phased envelopment strategy for the agglomeration, beginning with the occupation of Kostyantynivka as the first phase, followed by the capture of Druzhkivka as the second phase. In the near term, Tactical Group “Dzerzhynsk” will attempt to break through to the Stepanivka–Berestok line and subsequently to the Dovha Balka–Illinivka line and will attempt to seize the entire western part of Kostyantynivka along the western bank of the Kryvyi Torets River. Offensive actions by the Tactical Group are expected on the Yablunivka–Stepanivka, Oleksandro-Kalynove–Berestok, and Pleshchiivka–Berestok directions.
Tactical Group “Bakhmut” will consolidate in the southeastern part of Kostyantynivka and will attempt to break through to the eastern part of the city. Subsequently, the Tactical Group will attempt to advance to the northern and northwestern districts of Kostyantynivka and break through to the Izhevka–Virolyubivka line along the eastern bank of the Kryvyi Torets River. The Tactical Group will continue its offensive on the Oleksandro-Shultyne–Kostyantynivka and Predtechyne–Kostyantynivka Directions. A sharp increase in combat activity by the 70th Motorized Rifle Division of the 18th Combined Arms Army is also expected in the Chasiv Yar area and north of it on the Kalynivka–Virolyubivka Direction simultaneously with the breakthrough of Tactical Group “Bakhmut” units to the eastern part of Kostyantynivka. The likely direction of further advance is toward Kurtivka and Druzhkivka.
The Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad defense area of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of Ukrainian Defense Forces will be seized by the enemy by the end of January 2026. By capturing Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, the enemy gains the chance to launch an offensive toward Dobropillya and potentially break through rapidly, with the 2nd Combined Arms Army advancing from Pokrovsk and the 51st Combined Arms Army moving from the bridgehead on the Kazennyi Torets River. The command of the enemy “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping will not be able to bypass/envelop the defense area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the flanks, as the Defense Forces firmly hold the Vilne – Novyi Donbas line, leaving only a frontal offensive on Dobropillya, which will entail enormous losses.
On the Oleksandrivka and Huliaypole Directions, the enemy’s “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping will advance on the widest possible front, attempting to maximally stretch the forces of Ukrainian Defense Forces and their reserves, and through active offensive actions by the 36th Combined Arms Army ensure, on the main strike direction toward Huliaypole, a maximum concentration of its own forces and assets in the zone of the 5th Combined Arms Army
The enemy will attempt to develop the offensive of the 5th Combined Arms Army in the general direction of Varvarivka–Verkhnya Tersa–Omelnyk. Considering that in the offensive zone of the 58th Combined Arms Army the enemy will advance northward along the Dnipro, has already reached the delta of the Konka River in the Prymorske area and has bypassed Stepnohirsk from the west and east, it will attempt to reach the defense line of the 17th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces along the Konka River on the Malokaterynivka–Komyshuvakha sector. The aggressor will attempt to cut the logistics of the 17th Army Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in Orikhiv and, with the troops of the 5th Combined Arms Army, the main forces of the 76th Air Assault Division and the 35th Combined Arms Army, break through to the near approaches to the city from the northeast, from the area north of Huliaypole, after which it will assault Orikhiv. The success of this plan directly depends on the ability of Ukrainian Defense Forces to stabilize the situation in Huliaypole.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the command of the enemy’s “Dnepr” Operational Grouping will continue trying to take control of most of the island zone in the Dnipro delta in the direction of Kherson, will try to create a tactical bridgehead on the right bank, and to eliminate the tactical bridgeheads of the 30th Marine Corps of Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of the automobile and railway bridges near Antonivka.

Humanitarian + general:
In January, Russia launched more than 6,000 strike drones, about 5,500 guided aerial bombs, and 158 missiles of various types against Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported. Zelenskyy emphasized that virtually all of these weapons were used against the energy sector, railways, Ukrainian infrastructure, everything that supports normal life. At the same time, air defense reported that over the month it shot down and suppressed 79 missiles, as well as 2,725 Shahed-type strike UAVs, 565 reconnaissance UAVs, and 18,185 UAVs of other types.
On the night of February 1, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 90 UAVs, about 60 of which were Shaheds. According to the Air Force, 76 of them were shot down or suppressed. The remaining 14 hit 9 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in two other places. As of the morning, the attack was ongoing, with several UAVs in the sky.
In Dnipro, on the night of February 1, a woman and a man were killed as a result of an enemy UAV strike, a fire broke out, a single family home was destroyed, and two more were damaged. A passenger car was also damaged.
At around 07:20 on February 1, Russian occupiers shelled the city center of Kherson, as a result of which a 59-year-old woman was wounded. She sustained a concussion, blast injury, and a closed craniocerebral injury, and part of her leg was torn off.
On February 1, Russian forces struck a maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia. Six people were injured, including two women who were undergoing examinations at the time of the enemy strike. During the day, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia a second time with a UAV, injuring two women and a child.
According to reports from the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine and DTEK, Russian forces attacked a coal mining enterprise and a service bus with four Shahed-type UAVs in the Pavlohrad District of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. As a result of a strike on the bus transporting workers after a shift, at least 12 miners were killed and 16 more were wounded, including 9 in severe condition.
As a result of an airstrike with three FAB-250 bombs carried out by the enemy against Sloviansk on Sunday morning, a 43-year-old woman, a resident of Kramatorsk, was killed. One local resident was wounded. In addition, 14 apartment buildings, three cars, a Nova Poshta branch, and a coworking center were damaged.
At around 14:50, occupiers carried out a UAV strike on the village of Khotimlia in the Chuhuivskyi District of Kharkiv Oblast. Two shops caught fire, another shop and two passenger cars were damaged. A 20-year-old woman and a 52-year-old woman were injured.
Over the night of February 1, more than 1,500 apartment buildings in Kyiv that had been left without heat due to an emergency situation in Ukraine’s energy system that occurred on January 31 were reconnected. Another thousand apartment buildings remained without heat supply. As of the evening, the number of buildings without heating had decreased to 244.
Solid operational breakdown. The point about the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad salient and how taking it opens the Dobropillya axis is critical but gets overlooked in a lot of coverage. I've been tracking the Kupyansk sector and the dual-front pressure there from north and east is particularly nasty for maintaining defensive cohesion.
